I have an issue where the communications menu just stops showing up when i push the comms button \ . Doesn't seem to matter which aircraft, it will always work at the start when its first loaded up and i'm in a plane, works on the ground, works in the air but then suddenly stops showing up. If i keep flying around and try it intermittently maybe 10 mins later it will eventually start showing up again and continue to work fine. Makes missions and campaigns suddenly impossible to play.

Might be co-incidence but started happening the first day i tried out a Rift S. Before then i was using a Rift for a long time and after a weekend i sent the Rift S i was borrowing back and now use my Rift again but still same issue. Pretty sure i updated DCS on the same day so might have been that. Have updated DCS since but issue is still there.

Has anyone else heard of this issue before?

Update: After finishing with the Rift S i started flying with a new aircraft and have realized the issue at that point was a difference in key binding between mic and comms menu that made it appear there was still an issue. I cant reproduce the original issue because i no longer have the same setup but it seemed to either be related to the Rift S or multiplayer.

I see something similar and have not yet found a solution.

Twice in the last week the comms menu has stopped appearing.

1st time during single player UH1-Huey mission. Couldn't complete mission without comms. Restarting the mission fixed the issue for some more days.

2nd time was my first time in multiplayer. After ~15mins comms menu would not appear with either keyboard or joystick binding.

Writing here in case anyone else has experienced this recently.

I don't believe that's the case. Up until a couple months ago you would always have some form of communication menu come up with the \ key, even if that was the wrong action.

That's why there are numerous examples of this same thread across multiple modules recently. People are discovering it and thinking it's specific to one plane.

The comms menu should show regardless of radio selection and tuning.

Naturally the first thing I tried was switching radios 1/2 and checking frequency in case of something on my side. I also checked for held modifiers like Ctrl, Shift.

The issue occurs intermittently and always disappears (fixes) when restarting the mission.

With UH1-Huey, I did find that while the 'Communications menu' failed to appear, I could bring up 'Pilot's radio trigger RADIO'. I think (not entirely sure) that in the Mirage 2000, I was able to bring up Radio1, Radio2 when the Comms menu failed.

This issue has occurred for me about 4 times ever so far.

In my case the comm menu doesn't work anymore at all...

I tried to repair twice DCS. I tried in VR and no-VR. I tried on different maps and modules. I remapped the comm switches and key. I also made sure that the ''comm menu diseable'' option is unchecked in VAICOM (which anyway I didn't use for a while). And nothing... I can use radio in multi through SRS, so the proble is the comm menu, not the radio.

It was working fine few days ago. Only think I did since then was to download Liberation Campaign, but I don't see why that could be the problem.

I am afraid I will have to uninstal-reinstall DCS completely :(

Thanks Flappy. I am re-installing DCS right now. I will open a new thread in case the problem is not solved.
