ex81 Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Hi, Windows snipping tool seems not to work for me. So I searched for a way to do it in DCS and I found this under GENERAL category : SysRQ Don`t know what this means. Anybody any help ? What goes up, must come down ! Eaglewings Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 (edited) Screen shot function in dcs is bound to your SysRQ key in dcs control section. Keyboard layout are different so it could be another button on your keyboard. My is being bound to "prtscr" on my keyboard. Rudel_chw Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Also, you can create an autoexec.cfg text file at /saved games/dcs/config Inside put this sentence so that the screenshot is on jpg format rather than png: options.graphics.ScreenshotExt = "jpg" For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

What does SysRQ mean and prtscr is a button ? Which one is it on your keyboard ? @ Rudel_chw A simple textfile or must it be a special app I create this file with ? And how do I get this exe to work? I`m really not a expert. Sorry for a lot of questions. Edited August 11, 2019 by ex81 What goes up, must come down ! Nealius Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Print Screen Is the name of the actual key. I have never once seen a SysRQ key on any QWERTY keyboard.
norbot Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 I assume you're using a German keyboard. Just press the "Druck" key. The screenshot will be saved in your "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\ScreenShots" folder.
razo+r Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Pressing the "Print Screen" button makes screenshots. This key is also labbeled as SysRQ: https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1MSIM_enCH859CH859&ei=cExQXdLvEYy8gQbYyqCIBg&q=sysrq+key&oq=sys+rq&gs_l=psy-ab.1.1.0i67j0i10i203j0i10l6j0i22i10i30j0i22i30.1417.2231..3313...0.0..0.80.154.2......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71j35i39j0i203._8gmr7GP91g So they are the same buttons

A simple text file, but windows' Notepad is a really lousy text editor as it sometimes insert non-standard characters at the end of each line ... I use free Notepad++ ... you can get it here: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ :) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
BitMaster Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 oops, I guess times have changed, at least for the reason why you should never ever edit linux files with notepad, ala EOL,CR and LF commands.
