mikoyan Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Thanks Namenlos... Almost 30 years in service and still secret. Awesome Su-25 That is weird since the su-25 doesn't have very complex avionics, maybe they want to keep secret the weapons deployment parameters from possible enemies?

ED Team Groove Posted June 19, 2009 ED Team Posted June 19, 2009 Interesting footage. It seems like there is no automatic tracking and or stabilization system on that Su-24s. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

Weta43 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 It seems like there is no automatic tracking and or stabilization system on that Su-24s. I'n not saying there is & haven't got time to look it up, but watch from 00:54 the crosshairs are drifting all over the place, and are well off target prior to impact, but the missile guides directly into the target (with a very peculiar tight spiral in the terminal phase). There's also very little 'information' on that display - perhaps the crosshairs are to do with a separate video recording system? 1 Cheers.
Kuky Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Yeah, I think too video represents camera view only... not the missile guidance. EvilBivol-1 Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) The missile was probably TV-guided fire and forget and was not being guided by the aircraft at all after launch. The optical sensors on the aircraft itself likely do not have any auto-tracking features. Hopefully it can at least ground-stabilize. Could someone explain to me the Stealth qualities of the f-22 skin and the Russian plasma system. Does the f-22 skin jam absorb or deflect radar? (do we know yet?) And how does this plasma system work ..radiowave microwave ion!?!?!?! sobek Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Could someone explain to me the Stealth qualities of the f-22 skin The airframe is designed so that, in level flight, as little radar energy as possible is reflected back in the direction that it came from. There may be also some absorbant stuff in the paint or whatever, who knows. Jamming is a technique that is basically based on sending "false" returns to a radar, but is not part of the basic "stealth" mechanism. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa!
