xWARGOx Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Never felt so good to have so many thoughts going on about the viper finally debuting in DCS and I finally went VR this summer. What setup do I want. How will I handle cheek soreness from smiling so much in the pit. do I have a baby sitter available this weekend....scratch that. does the wifey want to go away with the kid for a "spa day" on me ;-) I can listen to football instead of watching sunday and is there beer in the firdge? Ok back to my question. Im torn on my HOTAS decision as I have the hog & the cougar (modded but not fssb). Going to be an issue at all using a10 stick and also using cougar throttle. (trying to think doesnt the cougar throttle connect to the stick or is it vice versa). It's in my attic =\ I mean I prefer the cougar throttle but my a10 stick just seems in better condition but either will do the job obviously. I honestly didnt think I'd be rushing this week to fly my baby. I could use my cougar setup as well. I'd be happy to switch back full time to my cougar throttle. just is perfect imo. like play dough molded to my hand. Now next playdough project with the kid....cougar replica.
Harlikwin Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Im using a cougar throttle with a tsuba and WH stick. If i understamd the question, yes you can have multiple sticks and throttles connected at the same time. Its just a pain in the ass to make sure everything is mapped right for each aircraft. Falconeer Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I have both the Cougar and the Warthog flight stick connected to my pc. The Cougar stick is sitting at the back of my desk under a cover (rarely used since the pots needs replacement) Planes: Choppers: Maps: Flaming Cliffs 3 Black Shark 2 Syria A-10C Tank killer 2 Black Shark 3 Persian Gulf F/A18C Hornet AH-64 Apache Mariana's F-16C Viper Afghanistan F-15E Strike Eagle Kola Peninsula Mirage 2000C AJS-37 Viggen JF-17 Thunder F-14 Tomcat F-4E Phantom
Geraki Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Will be any public profile for realistic HOTAS COUGAR or Warthog setup? Kind Regards

SmoglessPanic Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I can listen to football instead of watching sunday and is there beer in the firdge? a. I suggest a cooler with a whole lotta ice so you just have to reach over and not move! Happy Viper-ing.:thumbup::thumbup:
pchRage Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I have the Cougar Throttle and WH stick setup, but my microstick on the throttle I've been "dealing with" just up and died, the pots are just fried. Anyone have any drop-in replacements?
Falconeer Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 You could also contact thrustmaster directly. .. spare parts are relative cheap and their service with spare parts is quite good Planes: Choppers: Maps: Flaming Cliffs 3 Black Shark 2 Syria A-10C Tank killer 2 Black Shark 3 Persian Gulf F/A18C Hornet AH-64 Apache Mariana's F-16C Viper Afghanistan F-15E Strike Eagle Kola Peninsula Mirage 2000C AJS-37 Viggen JF-17 Thunder F-14 Tomcat F-4E Phantom
uri_ba Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Microstick you might be able to get from TM, but the supplier has stopped making them, so they might have run out of those. As for the topic of this thread, there is in addition to TUSBA, there is an Arduino based open-source project, which I wrote, that does almost the same thing (As the TUSBA R1) for parts that will cost you about 20USD or less. I'll shamelessly link to github https://github.com/uriba107/cougar_tqs_adapter :running of to post the link in my sig too: Creator of Hound ELINT script My pit building blog Few DIY projects on Github: DIY Cougar throttle Standalone USB controller | DIY FCC3 Standalone USB Controller

Anyone have any drop-in replacements? It's hard to "Burn out" pots at the voltages were using...more than likely they are just dirty. Have ya tried shooting them with some Electronics cleaner? Mine were acting "twitchy" so I shot them with some Radio Shack Cleaner/Lubricant they work great now. Thunder_ Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Is there a plan to have the refuelling on DCS { Viper to begin with } difficulty level , maybe a pre set of difficulty towards it would make the training more bearable, does anyone have a control curve or other suggestions being missed ?

Why, praytell did you decide to reply to a old unrelated post and not start a new one with your question? Anyway. I don't believe there is a plan to make refueling artificially easier, it's difficult for a reason, because its also difficult IRL. What stick/throttle have you got? Then I can offer mode advice regarding curves. The biggest suggestion would be to simply practice your formation flying if you want to make refueling easier, its the same skill.
