tomasm123 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Extracted MFDs transparent Hello all! I have a Thrustmaster MFDs setup in which I attach them to my monitor with velcro and I export the screens to the lower corners of the same screen so they fit inside the MFDs. It works great on The A-10C, however, on the F16, the MFD exports are transparent, I can barely see the information, and can see everything that is behind the MFDs like shown in the pictures below: Is there anyway I can export maybe the dark layer behind aswell as to better see the information? Or am I exporting the wrong thing. By the way I am exporting "LEFT_MFCD" and "RIGHT_MFCD" the same names as the A-10. Thank you for any help! Tomás
Bobik2002 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I think they are transparent everytimes but when you have it on different monitor background is black or I understand badly? Sent from my Mi A1 using Tapatalk Ryzen 9 5900x | 32GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | 32GB RAM
tomasm123 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I think you are correct, if I was displaying them on a monitor that is black (hence not displaying DCS) I think it would be fine. But I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help me in my case.
CaptHawk Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I just use L/R MFD using my own lua but still the they are not crystal clear like in the hornet, a10, ect looks like a low resolution but functional enough to keep using. Laidback Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I got DED displayed on second monitor [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Laidback Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I don't think there's a solution for it yet. I have mine on a second monitor and they're very light. I have to change monitor settings to get it to show a little better. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CaptHawk Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I got DED displayed on second monitorNow if that second monitor was a touch screen. Actually I use a 42" multi touch screen in my recording studio with a 27" that has the MFD's on it. Unfortunately touch is not well implemented and doesn't respond well. Works much better in the A10 and Hornet though. Still could be improvements on the whole touch screen usage. Especially dials or any rotary controllers. Sarge55 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I export the Left and Right MFCD's, the DED and EHSI onto a second monitor. Didn't bother with the RWR as it's placed well enough in cockpit for me. I found that the MFCD's and EHSI did not require a "Do file" in the ( .init.lua ) but the DED did. Perhaps the RWR needs one to export. I use a custom Lua for sizing and placing them on the second monitor. The MFCD's definitely require some adjustment as they are very dim. I have the monitor brightness at 100% and Gamma higher than I like and they are still hard to see. Buzzkillington Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Curious how you got the RWR, messed around a bit with it but could never seem to get it. In your screen LUA file: --On left HUD RWR_SCREEN = { x = 2904; y = 0; width = 256; height = 256; } In scripts\ews\rwr\indicator\RWR_ALR56_init.lua, add this to last line: if not USE_LCD_MFD then --ViewportHandling dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua") update_screenspace_diplacement(1, true, 0) try_find_assigned_viewport("RWR_SCREEN") end
AirWolf D Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Heya, export is darker than the cockpit MFDs, F-16 MFDs are very dark, i hope they fix that soon! Or no way to do that? CaptHawk Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Yeh that's basically what we're saying here. Please fix soon. CobaltUK Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 (edited) OT but its a struggle to see contacts on in game fcr its so dim. Why would they be so ? launchpad72 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) No special changes in your settings if you set up the A-10 and F-18 correctly. The X and Y work across all platforms once you get them aligned...... Edited October 21, 2019 by launchpad72
EvanWeeks Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 There's a thread on this over in the DCS World 2.5/Bugs/Multi-Monitor forums. No acknowledgement from ED just yet that I've been able to find. Evan "Preacher" Weeks - Dad. Programmer. Virtual Fighter Pilot. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SPAS79 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) Enhanced HSI viewport is also already exposed from ED with EHSI add something like: EHSI = { x = 3200; y = 0; width = 400; height = 200; } to export it With USE_LCD_MFD set to False in the F-16C config.lua (which I need because MFCD readability), my EHSI looks like this Edited October 25, 2019 by SPAS79 1

SPAS79 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Wait, are yours that bright? How? My MFCD exports are unreadably dark. I'll attach my files. It is a combination of telling the system you're not using USE_LCD_MFD (with config.lua) and then setting stuff as I have in my MFCD_x files.MFD_left_init.luaMFD_right_init.luaconfig.lua 2

Great job Spas....but can u please give more explanation and more details how and what lua file we modify? It will be a great help.... IAF116Jagr Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Great, but is the process the same for the F-16C? That video didn't really solve the question previously asked. Especially for those starting their initial experimentations with exporting MFDs and such. Long time Lurker.
