Yes, and if it doesn't you can do it yourself.

Windows key + R, type in 'cmd' and hit OK.

type in: cd C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin (this path is user-specific, if you didn't make any changes during DCS installation, it should be this), hit Enter

type in: dcs_updater update @openbeta, hit Enter

Wait until finished. :)

I have 1a 1.5 version as well as the version i mentioned. Now i need a third version?

You need to decide what do you want .. DCS releases new planes on the Openbeta branch, and after a short while to ensure that they dont have show-stopping bugs, the plane gets released on the Stable branch.

So, if you cant stand major bugs, then stick to the Stable branch... on the other hand, if you want to fly an aircraft as soon as possible, then chose the Openbeta branch.

Of course, if you've plenty of hard drive space, you can have both.

You dont need the 1.5. It was there before 2.0 was the mainstream. Decide between open beta or stable. Like others said everything is released on open beta first. Takes a while to be released on stable version.

Ok downloading open beta.. now in additio to the open beta downloading, i have a folder/file structure for the following:

DCS World

DCS World 1.5

DCS World 2 OpenAlpha

I will probably run out of space with the beta download, and surely won't habe enough room for the F16.

Do i need all these folders?

Anythi g i can get rid of?

No need to download OB, you can convert the stable release into openbeta using the skatezilla’s utility. The openalpha version is not needed anymore, unless you have some specific need to keep it.

I have some a10 campaigns i bought a few years ago, havent even flown them yet...

I thought i needed to keep on of these versions around to fly them.

Is there some type of uninstall i need to do to rid myself of the open alpha, or just delete the open alpha folder?

The campaigns have been updated to work on the latest version of DCS

Just delete the folder :)

Thanks guys for the help.

I've got the beta environment installed and downloaded the viper. It looks like all my other modules are available to add also. I dont have a lot of space left on my dcs drive, but i'd like install the persian gulf and nevada sceneries. I just need to see how much space they take up.

You dont need any of them. If you really need the stable version, that would be DCS World 2.5 (Only required if you are flying on a MP Server which sticks to Stable version).

Other than that, just keep the DCS World 2.5 OpenBeta Branch and enjoy the newest update every couple weeks (with a higher chance of bugs of course... But that basicly stated in the name of the branch :smartass:).

So update to OpenBeta 2.5 and delete the other folders (or vice versa). Those files are to old to update from anyway. ;)
