Does anyone know a good source to get a 4 way toggle type switch to use for an f-16 panel? Thank you in advance for any help given.

So, the official one is quite pricy at 111 EUR a piece, but supposedly has a very nice touch and feel to it. How it is typically done for most joysticks (like the TM Warthog) is that they use 4 microswitches around a central pole, on which a plate is positioned that connects to the actual HAT itself to move it around. Probably works best on a PCB.

I have also been looking for other multiposition switches myself for a similar purpose, which can be easily found from a site such as mouser and selecting the multi-switch category. I have been considering the following switches:

RKJXT1F42001, 4 way + center push that also has a rotary encoder embedded into it

RKJXL100401V, 8 way with center push

JS5208, standard 4 way + central push

I think when I get my next pay that I will order one of each and check which one I like best, as it is very hard to convey feel online. They have listed the necessary activation forces and their deflection in degrees, but that will unfortunately not indicate how the activation click feels. Hope this helps

At least in the states, Mouser and Digikey and the like are all back-ordered for 1-3 months on any of these sort of switches (as well as potentiometers with momentary push switches. It seems like a number of flight sim peripheral builders all have the same idea at once. The F-16 release seems to be firing up the switch market.

I've got a full ICP I'll be selling which includes the DCS switch you're looking to purchase.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

I boys. This is my home made DCS of my ICP. I don’t like the mini joystick 4 way, and use 4 micro push button with bolt of 4 mm for it. This is the photo.

What did you use for the buttons? I'm having trouble deciding on what buttons I want to order for mine. I'm printing the panels from https://github.com/JonahTsai/F16/tree/master/ICP but not sure what I want to actually use button wise. Something SMD I think. I was leaning towards something like these but they have a really small throw and might not feel good to press:

I used an xbox-type thumb controller, pulled off the thumb hat and replaced with a square switch. Plugged into arduino I converted the axis values into digital joystick push buttons. Had the added bonus of have the 'push in' function.
