BonerCat Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Do we actually need so many sticky threads on this forum section? It makes browsing thru here tedious, and i find it hard to belive people come here to watch the tomcat's release trailer (as glorious as it was), or see the early access feature list, a couple months after release. I don't know if this topic belong right here, so if it doesnt, i m sorry, but i thought i'd bring it up in the forum section it affects. Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
Tiramisu Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 +1 I think some of the sticky threads should be merged or put into more general threads. A content-thread with links in it might also be a good idea.
IronMike Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 I unstickied the shirt redemption code thread, the rest we unfortunately need still, at least as long as it is in EA. Yes, we could merge the threads for the trailers, but on the other hand, please don't forget that it is good advertisement for us, if people who are new to these forums, find them quickly and separately. Apart from these the rest is needed, too, and imo, it really ain't that hard to circumnavigate them, you just get less unstickied threads per page is all. Trust me, I have to do it every day hehe. Once out of EA, we might restructure and clean it out some more. Thank you for your understanding. BonerCat Posted November 9, 2019 Author Posted November 9, 2019 Alright. Thanks for the reply Mike! I m looking forward to the day when I can browse this forum a tiny bit easier, and in the meantime, I m gonna go back to the Tomcat  Modules: F-14, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, A-10C, A-10C II, AV-8B N/A, MiG-29, Su-33, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E, P-51D, Ka-50, Mi-8, Sa 342, UH-1H, Combined Arms Maps and others: Persian Gulf, Syria, Normandy, WWII Assets, NS 430 + Mi-8 NS 430
Knock-Knock Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Could make a 'One sticky to rule them all' and in that is links to all the threads that are sticky today. Then new stickies are sticky for a month, after which they unsticky and will be linked to in the 'One sticky to rule them all'. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

Then new stickies are sticky for a month, after which they unsticky and will be linked to in the 'One sticky to rule them all'. Exactly my idea. BTW it would help already if the board software wouldn't show up stickies on subsequent pages. And also BTW: It always displays at least 40 thread in total minimum with 20 non-sticky threads minimum. If we've got 30 stickies, it will show them + 20 non-sickies, 50 in total. It just starts to look cleaner if there are less than 20 stickies.
DERacing Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Just a thought, but is there a way to only sticky the threads to page 1 of the board? I think that is the real issue. The number of sticky threads is large, I understand that and am actually happy they are there. But going to page 2 and seeing the same 15 threads at the top eats up a lot of real estate on the board. Then by time you get to page 3 and see the same top sticky's again... Well, there you have the real issue. Just my .02 cents worth. :megalol::megalol::megalol::joystick::pilotfly: Intel i7 9700k, 64GB DDR4 (Corsair), Gigabyte Z390 Master, RTX 2080 Ti AMP 11gb, 500GB Sabrent Rocket (System), 1TB XPG Gammix S11 Pro M.2 (DCS), Windows 11 64-bit Pro, Samsung 49" 4K CRG9 Monitor (5120x1440), Samsung Odyssey Plus, TrackIR 5, Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas, Various streamdecks, button boxes, Logitech Pro Rudder Pedals, Corsair K95 Platinum, Iron Claw mouse. Blinde Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Could someone actually seriously do something about this? There are 22 sticky threads and at least half of them are old or just not so important. :no_sad:
