Guest DeathAngelBR Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 So, are we also getting a flyable F-5E? MiG-21 is no match for Su-27/33, MiG-29 and F-15C.

MiG-21's still defend the skies of many european countries today including NATO ones so why not include it? Who said anything about it being flyable? BTW ever see the R-77 armed version? It doesn't look likely that we'll get new flyables based on community models - although we may get new AI objects in future Lomac versions. I don't recall any European countries using the MiG21 . . . . but my memory may be failing. Examples? The Indians have an R77 capable MiG21, and apparently it's still a pretty capable BVR aircraft. An airframe with reasonable performance with new avionics bolted on usually is. Still some limitations (cost of upgrading the avionics is usually prohibitive, for one), but by all accounts the MiG21-Bis is a pretty decent aircraft. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Wolverine Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Hi Brit. According to my sources. Wolverine Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Alfa. I'm trying to find some info on the Mig-23 R-77 project. I saw a pic of one in a new book I got a few days ago but can't seem to find and info on it. As you are our leading authority on Russian equipment here could you point me in the right direction or give me some info. Thanks. Alfa Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I dont know much about this Wolverine - I believe it is much the same deal as with the MiG-21-93. Namely a case of equipping the MiG-23 with the Kopyo radar and thus providing it with multirole capability. But I havent see or heard about this for some time, and I dont think such upgraded MiG-23 has entered service anywhere :) As you are our leading authority on Russian equipment here.. Well thanks for the confidence Wolverine, but I am not sure I can live up to that  Cheers, - JJ. JJ

Orao Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 @DEV team I was thinking of submiting animated soldiers as models. Will there be any chance at all to include them in LockOn or should I pass my way on this one ??? Thx for the awnser.
Witchking Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 yeah! especially for a heli sim i.e., 1.2 :P animated ground crew and soldiers are A MUST. F l a n k e r Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Hi SilientEagle. I thought that your Falcon grows very well, but there is one already in the game, and it has a good model. Why don’t you use your skill to make a Viggen or an Eurofighter or a Flagon or a B-2 or a F-15E or an Harrier or a Draken or a Starfighter or a Forger or a Rafale or a 747 or one of the several planes (or even helicopter) that aren’t in the game? I have seen the flyable whishlist few topics above, why all the occidental players consider only the F-18 or the F-16? They are monomaniacs! The Ka-50 is a wonderful new entry, because it is a copter an it can show the simulator to another point of view! For me, a valid alternative can be a single engine aircraft with a variable geometry wings, for example.
Allochtoon Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Hi guys, i cut the poly limit to 45.000 now, so i started redoing/adding some parts now. Does anyone have a good picture and or technical drawing of the engine (viewed from behind)? Also, does anyone have a good picture of the PT-21UK dragchute being used by the plane? take care,
F l a n k e r Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I really don't know if I have what you want, but who knows? I can send to you a mail whit some images. My mail is Flanker@fastwebnet.it
F l a n k e r Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I have found some things at http://www.hostultra.com/~migalley/mig21_pictures.html
D-Scythe Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I got one - a must for V1.2 ;) - new 3d model for the F-15's external fuel tank! I mean honestly, that thing has to be the simplest, ugliest, most out of place object in Lock On. The aux. fuel tanks for the *non-flyables* are more detailed.
ED Team Wags Posted March 28, 2005 ED Team Posted March 28, 2005 Has anyone considered creating an F-15E model? This would be a great addition to Eagle's next release. This would be my highest priority for a new AI aircraft. -Matt Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
VVanks Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I think it'll be a good idea if we work on remodelling any left over Flanker 2.5 models like fuel tanks, missiles, cars etc. Homepage: http://www.worldwynd.net Coming Soon: http://www.simplywyn.com
D-Scythe Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Has anyone considered creating an F-15E model? This would be a great addition to Eagle's next release. This would be my highest priority for a new AI aircraft. No, not as far as anyone knows. It would be first on my wishlist for new AI aircraft too. Maybe ED can release their 3d model of the F-15C? Then someone can easily convert it to an F-15E: cockpit/canopy changes for a second seat, new landing gear with the bulgy gear bays/doors, add LANTIRN, re-arrange some antennaes for the ALQ-135 and stuff, and add CFTs. IMO, it would be much easier than building an F-15E from scratch. BTW, Lock On's F-15 does not have this, but all MSIP F-15Cs seems to. What's that antennae/bump thingy between the radar radome and the cockpit on the front of the F-15C's forward fuselage? It's right in front of the cockpit - here's a photo:
Trident Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I think it's a data-link antenna. BTW, I second the request for an AI Strike Eagle, or at least a thorough rework for the legacy F-111 model from Flanker2.5 (which would be easier to add to the game).
Allochtoon Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Thanks for the link flanker, thats exactly the good site i lost the link of. BTW, i read the mig21 stock version uses its main wheels to turn on the runway, is this the same as in the bis? http://img173.exs.cx/img173/3540/brakechuteexample6zc.jpg See image above, is this the correct relative size of the brake chute, and or ropes?
