raelias Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Hey, First of all thanks for the great comunication today, great news all around I wonder if wags or someone else from the team could elaborate on what you mean by "improvements to the AIM-120 AMRAAM" if possible and feel free to expand in any other exiting features in store for the next few months Happy Holidays Win10 64, MSI Krait Gaming Z370, I7 8700K, Geforce 1080Ti FTW3 ,32 GB Ram, Samsung 980 EVO SSD Modules: Combind Arms, A-10C, F-86F, F/A-18, F-16, Flaming Cliffs, KA-50, L-39, P-51, UH-1, Christen Eagle II, Persian Gulf
twistking Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 i read somewhere, that the devs are going to publish a write-up on missiles in general, detailing what they want to improve, but also explaining what they think is already correct concerning some discussion within the community. can't give you a quote unfortuantely. My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original
Wizard_03 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 They did so with the Aim-7 before it got updated, I think the 120s about to get the same treatment. Also Heatblur has been working with them to update Missile APIs in general for their Aim-54 So I think its just been ongoing. They probably were waiting for TWS mode to update the 120 so we have a complete experience. DCS F/A-18C :sorcerer:

ED Team Wags Posted December 18, 2019 ED Team Posted December 18, 2019 Hey, First of all thanks for the great comunication today, great news all around I wonder if wags or someone else from the team could elaborate on what you mean by "improvements to the AIM-120 AMRAAM" if possible and feel free to expand in any other exiting features in store for the next few months Happy Holidays Hello, This is primarily in regards to guidance. We're working on some comparison graphs for real world and game data for flight performance based on thrust, acceleration, drag, alpha, etc., and we will let our clients draw their own conclusions. In a related matter, we plan to do the same for the Hornet and Viper flight models. Although we added Augmented Proportional Navigation (APN) earlier (as apposed to pure PN navigation), we believe there is room for improvement in regards to the loft trajectory. We want to investigate this and make improvements where needed. Per example R-27 modeling is starting to show its age and it is hurting the 'red' side a lot... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3887106&postcount=263 ------- All the people keep asking for capabilities to be modelled.... I want the limitations to be modelled.... limitations make for realistic simulation. Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a bit you realize the pig likes it. Only in PB would it loft. PB will be coming later in early access. twells555 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Not to complain but +1 on that...how long has the TGP been out and still no HUD indicator...I don't get it...JF17 comes out and everything is functional from the start. Just a TGP marker on the HUD...any kind of mark...doesn't have to be finished or perfect...LOL...been waiting for a long time... Eldur Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 This update is just massive. Don't know when to try out all the new things. But first things first, I've got to get it though the bamboo cable (DL speed ranges from 50-150KB/s ATM, that was about the speed of my 768kbit/s ADSL 15 years ago). 1280 / 1453 MB, and this is just the deltas... if I just could fly while it's fetching those files Maybe next time I'll run the updater on a second rig and just copy it over afterwards Thanks for that cornucopia of plenty, have some nice holidays!
twistking Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 [...] In a related matter, we plan to do the same for the Hornet and Viper flight models.[...] Will you also talk about FCS reversion modes for the Hornet (Mech, DEL1, DEL2)? I could not get any info on what to expect on that, but would like to know, before buying the module. Thanks you!
