What do you think about this new feature, guys ?

I do like it, but they need to modify it a bit more

Not like this

I think is a very nice addition but I also think that the best wing "vabrations" that could be added (not talking about the flex here) would be the ones produced by the buffeting and not only the flutter/dynamic response as we don't have yet a good weather interaction to make them visible in a regular basis so I would have gone the HB way with its Tomcat which seems to work in all dynamic aeroelasticity conditions, flutter, dynamic response AND buffeting.

As they are suposed to be WiP I have hope they eventually add more conditions for the wings to "vibrate" in the future, at least as the Tomcat.

For me, it looks very artificial, nothing like in Wag's video. The flex doesn't respond naturally to the aircraft movements. But... its WIP so who cares.

When I watched the wing flex video (F-16), it was actually kind of scary...such thin wings, combined with high-G’s and heavy bomb loads, they flex far enough where I’d be worried they snap right off.

As a pilot, I don’t think I want to watch them as I buzzed around the area. I understand that carbon fiber wings have immense flex ranges, but the -16 has traditional wing construction iirc.

Of course, the wings *are* modeled correctly, yes? In which case my fears are nothing but vapors in my mind, “fear is the mind killer.

The wings bend in a very unnatural way.

1- During G load the pitch down warping of the outer part of the wing is way to much.

2- During roll the wing bends like there is an aileron on the outer part of the wing pulling or pushing the wingtip up or down.

3- the bend during release of store is also a bit to much in my opinion.

Note:

The flapperons of the F16 are on the inner part of the wing and could not affect the outer portion of the wing that much.

Wing bend (vibration) on the ground look great.

I know WIP...

But maybe this helps.

The amount of flex is correct imo...watch this video, lots of moments where you can see how big the flex is:

just a pity there is not more wing vibrations due to other factors.

I'm quite liking the wing flex tbh,

I'd like to see more buffet when at high AoA. If you fly with a reasonable amount of turbulence in the mission they do bob around quite nicely with the aircraft movement. They tend to look a bit too stationary because most people fly with very little in the way of turbulence.

Anyway I have a photo in my refs collection that shows excellently just how flexible the F-16 wings are - compare the angles of the wing tip AMRAAMs lol.

Excellent picture Deano. Thanks for posting it.

Thank you for kind words. What exactly should be modified in your opinion?

IMO, the range of movement is correct, but the way the flex builds up is unnutural.

If you look at the videos, the tip launchers feel more "springy", while in DCS the wingtip launchers point up or down in a very linear fashion, as it they were moved by a linear actuator.

Hard to explain, I hope you understand what I mean.

Yeah I kind of agree with the above post. The maximum possible wing flex should only be happening at 9G but I seem to be able to reach the limit of wing flex way before that. I think the movement needs to be more gradual over a bigger G window, reaching maximum flex at 9G

The update they released this weekend fixed the initial issue with the wing flex. and I think it is spot on now. looks awesome! Way better than the instant angled flex like the original release of it.
