Its normal for fps to drop at lower altitude. The scenery is dense and the VGA card has to work harder. However, If it was not dropping before the update then it might have to do something with the update.

Maybe this is not the place but, as long as I see these threads and system specs, I'm disappointing and being sorry.

4.2GHz? 1080 GTX? SSD? and still stuttering and lower FPS?

What kind of system should we have?

As far as I know DCS doesn't support SLI and multicore thing.

Isn't it the time to change game engine?

There can be many reason for stutter.

Anything from a bad config or option in DCS to hardware issues or configuration, or even windows and input problems.

It can be difficult to diagnose.

Personally I am not seeing stutter in Normandy

It is worth clearing out your metashader2 and fxo folder in your dcs saved games folder.

Also remove any unofficial mods and run a cleanup and repair or verify for steam users.

Ensure windows and all drivers are up to date also.

thanks

Delete all shader files in:

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo\

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders\

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders\metafx\

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2\

Then restart the sim and let it rebuild them all. This has solved many a glitch before and I do it every time after an update as a matter of course.

If your preload radius is low having to read off HDD might be causing stutter. Try cranking that up.

Using ingame MSAA over 2X or using the other ingame AA with MSAA can also cause stutters.

Bit of a silly question, have you tried lowering all your settings?

I mean..

Do these conditions exist when the settings are at their lowest?
And worse when theyre at their highest?

I didn't try lowering my settings, cause with Caucasus/Nevada/Persian Gulf it runs good...

So I think Normandy map is the problem...

Okay, well Normandy is a different map with different textures.

Try choosing lowest possible settings and then running it again.

Then try highest possible settings and running it again.

If there's a very big difference in performance we know which route to go down.

If there isn't a difference in performance and the issue is still there we know it's the other route to go down.

Help us, help you.
