"None of these dates are correct. We have not made an official ship date. Some companies, due to local laws, need to put some kind of date in so they pick one.

We are still on track and there are no delays."

Well, the Systemactive announcement was about 1600 yesterday afternoon.

They are the official HP distributors and I think we can trust what they say.

Thanks. I had thought it might be UK-specific since Sytemactive is "is the exclusive pre-order partner of HP UK," but the statement above is pretty clear.

 

I tried to get a confirmation from Connections, the U.S. pre-order merchant, but the hold music broke my spirit after 20 minutes and I gave up.

Just remember, HP gave us an official release date on their web-site for the G1 when that was coming out. We all remember how that turned out, so I'm just going to take a "It'll be ready when its ready" approach and take anything I read about release dates with a grain of salt.

"With G1, we announced a ship date and we missed it as bugs crept in and we got eaten alive... then there were the issue that were found AFTER we changed the date and launched.

We're playing it safer this time around and we are on-track internally"

 

Personally I am in no hurry I can wait.
