Yup. Nothing shows up in that dashboard when i login.

When I log in takes me to a page with Account Home and Web Order History along with some other things.

Under Web Order History it shows an order date and order number. If I click the order number it takes me to showing the Reverb G2 Pre-Order with status of back order and the price along with my payment method on file.

If you don't have that best to try and contact them for sure.

I have no idea how HP managed to team up with this Connection outfit for pre-orders in the states, I sure wish they would have gone with Amazon here.

Hi folks,

I'm thinking about the G2 to replace my Rift, the side by side through the lense comparisons on Youtube speak for themselves!

However, I'm concern about the the hardware aspect of things on the gpu side.

My overclocked 1080 Ti with the Rift S can sustain 40fps even in loaded MP situations which I'm happy with, running pretty high in graphic settings, MSAA x2.

The G2 has 2.5 times more pixels than the Rift S if I'm not mistaken.

My plan is to replace my gpu with an RTX3080, but first leaked benchmark show a x2 improvement compared to the 1080ti, not x2,5.

G2 beeing 90hz vs 80hz for the Rift, it means that with 2 times the gpu performance, I have to display 2.5 times more pixels at an additionnal 5 fps (45 vs 40).

Does this means I'll have to lower my settings or am I missing something ?

Yeah, I think you would need to lower your settings most likely. However we will not really know until - at the very least - general, real work game benchmarks are out on the 16th Sept. Also will will not truly know until DCS itself is tested both in and out of VR with a Reverb. (G1 would be okay I presume as it has the same number of pixels to drive).

So yeah... we don't know for sure. I will be watching the various reviews on Wednesday and trying to make an early decision. But, most likely I will shoot for a 3090 rather than the 3080. Hard choice however given the huge price differential. The 3080 is such good value.

Imho it's not worth at all upgrading a 2080TI to a 3080, perforamnce is about 25-30% in optimized games (not DCS of course) , plust the 3080 has only 10gb of vram which I already saturate on my 2080TI, we need a 3090 or a 3080ti with 20gb vram.

Since HP haven't told anyone else when the G2 will be available, I think Amazon are guessing.

Well, 10gb of FASTER ram than the 2080ti. So who knows, but yeah 2080ti to a 3080 isn't much of an upgrade. A 3090 though should hopefully help on DCS. IF its really true that its 2.5x faster that might mean 90fps is possible, though I bet its a proc limit not gfx so a 3090 might be wasted on DCS.

From some leaked benchmarks, the 3080 only was about 24% faster than a 2080ti so I'm skeptical about the 3090. Based on the Nvidia presentation, I was expecting better gains. 3090 doesn't seem like it's that much better than a 3080 except with a lot more ram.

I would say it's probably safe to get a 3090 and keep it as long as people kept a 1080ti if you don't mind the price.

I will try to order one on the 24th this month but if I don't get one, it's not like I'll be able to get a new card anytime soon. So then I'll be waiting to see what happens after AMD reveals.

Yeah this is my dilema, I have a 2080ti. So the 3080 makes nearly 0 sense to buy, so my choices are go 3090 or wait and see if the 3080ti makes more sense. But it seems like its a year out so...

Between the 3080 and 90 its like ~20% more cores 10,496 8,704, and double the RAM for the 3090, so hard to say how much better its gonna be at 2x the price.

I can't believe how our tolerance for pricing has changed . People screamed bloody murder at the 2080ti's price of $1200-1400 . Now we are blithely discussing a card whose street price will run $1800-2000+ as though that's the new norm . Humans never fail to amuse me-except when they horrify me .

Having said that , i myself will be considering a 3080ti which will prolly run $1200+ . Guess i amuse me as well :)

If I had a 2080ti I would most likely not upgrade this cycle. My 1080ti is getting old and I definitely want to play cyberpunk when it's out. I won't be gaming at 4k but I do want to keep a new card more than a year like I have been. Not to mention getting back into DCS when the Reverb G2 is out so the extra power is welcome.

If I were you I'd wait for reviews and I certainly would feel much better in your position. I for sure don't want to wait 6 months to another year to see if a "Ti" model is actually a thing.

But at the same time it feels like I'm just blowing money on a 3090...maybe not if I keep it 3 years. I dunno, it's not about money as I have it to spend but it's more about making logical decisions with it and getting proper value.

I feel like what Nvidia has been doing with the release cycles has been very crappy.

If a 3080ti comes out for $1000 it's worth it. But if it's $1200 or more, than the 3090 is at least for me making more sense. I'd be keeping it another 3 years.

I'm in a similar boat, I have a 1080ti, i couldn't justify to myself a step up from a 1080ti to 2080ti , i definitely can to a 3090 for what is in essence a 2080ti money ...

I mean I can at least recoup some of the cost of the 3090 with the 2080ti too. Not as much as I would hope, but some.

My order # is 8 digits as well from the pre-order confirmation email and that number works fine in the order tracking link posted previously. Just copy that number from the email and select "Order Number" under the tracking options pulldown.

Mine is still showing as backordered. Does anyone know roughly when they will be shipping in the US?

I've got the same concern regarding the 3080, but considering that I am currently rocking a RTX 2080 Ti with 11GB GDDR6 and using a 5K monitor without hitting bottlenecks in DCS (no idea about MSFS) then I think I will be alright in 4K with the upcoming G2.

Conclusion: 10GB probably sufficient, at least for me.

Any kind souls out there with an HP Reverb generation 1 and and RTX 2080 Ti able to comment?

Nothing is easy on the leading edge of technology mate.

Prepare for disappointment and absolute amazement at the same time.

I will hold the line steady with my 2080ti until the reviews come in specific to DCS.

I have a feeling in my waters that something big is coming down the pipe with the G2 software wise.

The 3 year next day replacement for £72 sounds not a bad deal given that VR sets are not always reliable. Not sure what the normal guarantee is. What are others thoughts on this.
