D4n Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Currently, on one of the most famous PvP servers when player leaves his slot (back to spectators or into another slot), his aircraft just instantly vanishes instead of crashing/flying until crash. For realism would be nice if aircraft stays until actually having crashed. See example trackfile.server-20200405-000643.trk DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. Northstar98 Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Hmm, if this were to make it into DCS, I'd definitely make it optional, I know it's not realistic, but I'd rather that guy just despawn instead of leaving wreckage over runways/taxiways, seeing as it's difficult to clear them. D4n Posted April 4, 2020 Author Posted April 4, 2020 seeing as it's difficult to clear them. Doesn't the collision model of the wreck disappear after only a few minutes? At least that's how it is with (all or only specific) burning ground-units... Dagger71 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Doesn't the collision model of the wreck disappear after only a few minutes? At least that's how it is with (all or only specific) burning ground-units... no it will persist until server restarts. and sometimes plane crashes cause invisible craters. I think it used to be client that only clients saw wreckage so after leave and come back it would disappear. So that's a big no for ghost planes flying on their own after a disconnect. What should happen is a disconnect causes an automatic ejection. that would be a bit more realistic, so they lose a life if they return.
BMGZ06 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 ya this is a bad idea because people will just taxi to runways then just leave to be dicks. then you have planes littering the runway and ghost flying. There are too many kids and stoners playing this sim that like to be idiots and grief. Kang Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Seems to me it would be much easier to just ask people not to leave their plane slots until the vehicle has come to a complete stop, especially since Really? Never met any...
