Has anyone got the backup and emergency ICS to work after a hit? I know you can still hear a muffled Jester sort of, but it seems that after getting hit and getting the normal ICS knocked out, backup and emergency ICS never works.

I think you mean INS?

if you knock it out completely, as in break all gyros etc, there is no more back up. If you break it only partially, then yes either IMU or AHRS backup modes will work, and Jester will use them. (for example you will see your hud be tilted, but the BDHI will still work as intended etc)

I think he means ICS (Intercomm System) used to communicate between pilot and RIO.

oh I see, of course... I was wondering why Jester sound matters in that connection haha. Ok, will take a look.

The backup ICS should be working, at least it was a few weeks ago. I triggered a failure of the primary ICS using the ME failures. Jester came through very quiet and muffled after failure, swapped over to backup and it was back to normal. I was surprised at how well such little details are simulated.

Sorry for reviving this thread but i have noticed something: jester can be heard even after ICS amplifier and amplifier backup failure, for both pilot and rio (that is, all 4 ICS amplifiers dead).

Manual says intercommunication shouldnt be possible (page 289, second note on the page). But it is.

Isnt this a bug?

Why shouldn't it be? I mean, there's no barrier between the driver and the RIO. They could just yell at each other? Yeah, it would be harder to hear, but still.....

It just means that no electronic ICS is working, not that Jester has his mouth shut.

I wonder if that's going to be implemented for multicrew when in game voicechat is finally integrated with radios.
