It was hard to find many pictures with helicopters on the deck. And while I initially matched one of the pictures I had to adjust the spacing for the larger helicopters because the the way they take off and land. I tested with the stock/ED CH-47 and one of the Merlin mods. Spawn/landing height looked good with the CH-47 but I had to adjust the gear height of the Merlin to make it spawn correctly. So there maybe issues depending on the mod(s) you try.

Landing spot seems to depend on the mod as well. The CH-47s landed in the same spots they took off from but the Merlin's swapped take off and landing spots🤷‍♂️

Back up your ship lua and then replace these lines of code

Thanks I will give it a try when back home tomorrow/ Monday. @crazyeddie it’s the sea king I was trying to land on it - the hc 3 in rm commando skin

andy - Just tried it with the Sea King and Beldins revised flight deck data - it works fine. 

Are you giving it enough time to do the manouver - it hangs around a little bit off the side whilst they line up the speed and height before moving across the deck to land, that seems about the right rate from what I remember so the model is working pretty accurately i think.

I will try it again Beldins changes and yeah it was there for about 20 mins

Yes the helicopters do land painfully slow but not "20 mins" slow🤔. Hopefully the updated landing points will work for.

I think the "landing on the wrong side thing" was from an older version that had 3 spawn points. And because helicopters can be strange about landing spots it's possible when using just one helo it could take off from spot 1 and then land in spot 3 on the other side of the deck.

Hmmm - defo not 20 minutes. There is something amiss there. Have you tired any other helo's, what did they do. 

If its happening all the time whith everything then that might suggest you have a fault in your ship mod, try another download and see if that corrects it.

Thanks, Ivan-Avanov-1902, I will add the OSA Styx file to the existing lua file. The Russian destroyer Admiral Ushakov Encyclopedia file has been updated. The ship's name was incorrect.  It needs to be the same as the Main.Lua file name.

Not tried any other mods. The sea king lands fine on other ships like hms ocean and illustrious.

I need to understand how to work out these taxi ways etc - ipap’s hms Hermes has some issues like harrier all taking off spot and putting left wheel over edge of ship

No problem. I can see how the three spots could be confusing because of the way some helicopters work. So two spots might be best even through technically the ship could operate 3. I think she normally only carried 1 or 2. But I had trouble finding a picture with even one one the deck.

One thing I was not able to sort out with the Albion was the V-22. It will take off and land from LHA-6 ok but on the L-14 it lands fine but falls through the deck at the start of take off. Might be how the ship is classified maybe? Because if the collision works for helos and landing the V-22, I don't see why it's not working for the V-22. But I want to take another look at the 2 ship luas and see if there's something I'm missing that might cause that

Yeah that might be my bad, lol. I'd done some runway stuff for Joey's ships but I have no idea what he has included or what's made it into the wild.

But PM me later as I'm currently looking at all the runway scripts I've done for the mod carriers

I have been working on some new textures for the Type 23 frigate, FREMM, and USS Sacramento with slightly improved resolution and waterline markings that align on both sides of the ships.  If you are interested, I can send you the files.

Sure that's great because I just finished doing a custom radar and SAM for the USS Sacramento. I replaced the original mods Rim-116a SAMs with the NATO 1973 version of the sea sparrow (RIM-162H) that the ship used. 👍

That's brilliant.  Wait, I thought the RIM-162 denotes the Evolved Sea Sparrow missile, basically a new missile as opposed to the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow as seen during the Cold War.

No problem. I'll send you a link for the USS Sacramento update. It seems to be working well but..... I disable a line of code that should have disabled the SAM launcher but .... It still works🤔, so I'm not sure why it works🤦‍♂️ which is a little concerning 🤷‍♂️. I also have some liveries for the Bowen that the Admiral said are ok to share. I'll send it later tonight or tomorrow.

A lot of you are talented when it comes to 3D Modeling. We need a central place where you can upload your work. I was thinking of creating a new Forum just for that. Along with Modeling errors and so forth. For now, just PM me what you have and we can go from there. Thanks.

@joey45 is Hermes my brain was thinking Illustrious and my finger typed hermes ! - it's  Illustrious got the issue - t-pap's

Weapons update and new liveries in testing now for the USS Bowen

Here's USS Knox and USS Trippe launching Harpoons from modified ASROC launcher. This update apparently happened during the 1980s and could hold 2 Harpoons and 2 reloads. Since reloads can't be done at sea in DCS I went ahead and added all 4 Harpoons
