Caster Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 It seems like ED have been doing a decent amount of community surveying for the F16, was wondering if they have or will be doing the same for the game in general. They seem to be doing work on improving the A2A experience in terms of missile performance, but A2G is hamstrung with the current behaviour of indirect explosive damage (maybe I'm completely misunderstanding and it actually is realistic as-is, but it feels off to me). Fly fast and leave a pretty wreck
kengou Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Imo this is as big a deal as aircraft damage models and dogfight AI. Proper air to ground is virtually impossible to do realistically without splash damage, something that every other game on the planet seems to do without that much difficulty. Ignition Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Ground vehicle damage needs to be improved a lot. AOE damage is really ineficient, unless you're using CBU 97/105, which is a precision weapon.

Eldur Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 The damage model screenshots posted a while ago with the log overlay pretty much show that this gets modelled with the new DM which they'll eventually apply to all assets, beginning with the WWII birds, followed by the modern planes and helos (flyable ones first probably), then the ground assets.
