DCS Helicopter community thank you guys a million!

You guys did a mind blowing job. This map is so beautifully detailed, monuments, buildings, cities and town, trees, landing pads, rolling hills, orchards, deserts, forests. So much diversity! And those heliports all around Damascus! Beauties. Finally places in DCS just for us!. Really no other map compares to what you did here for DCS Syria. It is so gorgeous it should be a crime to fly this map faster than 120kt and 200 ft. That's just plain disrespect for your work! :)

 

Hence a big thank you from the small, often overlooked community of DCS RW pilots!

We flew tonight with a bunch of our pilots from Damascus to Beirut, with dropped jaws all the way. Possibilities for missions are endless. And that was only just a very small area of the map. With the Mi 24 and OH58D coming, this is about to become a dream come true.

 

For a early access, I have to say we didn't find much problems with the map at all. We found that the collision model for hospital landing pads are missing (at least the one in Beirut that we tried to land on). But we are pretty sure this is just something you are already working on.

 

So as a conclusion, best money spent since a long time in the DCS shop! Totally worth it. Even at non discounted price!

Yes, indeed. This map is really beautiful - well the area around Haifa at least -- didn't had the chance to view all of it yet:).

Flying around with the Gazelle and the Huey and it is really fantastic how good this area looks.

Helicopters are a bit useless at the moment. The troops and infantry behave quite erratically. I've tried launching a mission, but the soldiers are behaving stupid and I can't get them where I need them.

Completely agree with BaD CrC, this map is beautiful. So Syria must be a wonderfull place on earth? To bad the situation there irl is what it is. I would love to go there in person if possible some time. :(

How are you guys launching missions using the Syria map? I usually just jump into an Instant Action mission, But none exist as of yet?

I edit my own missions and sometimes I open a server to share them.

 

If you open the list of servers, you will see quite a few in the Syria scenario. Personally, to fly in multiplayer, I look for servers with human versus human role. I am not interested in public servants in the fight against artificial intelligence.

Been flying over it all day long. It is a work of art, I think. Yes, you gotta fly down low and slow to get the full sense of it. I have also grabbed the Viggen instant action missions, some good fun there.

Syria map is next level!

 

It was so excellent I had to bump up my Visibility Range from Medium to ULTRA to make sure I fully experienced the exceptional detail. The minor FPS hit is well worth it in my situation.

 

I almost feel guilty about getting this map for 30% off. Let me know if you need more of my money, especially if it will help to expand the Syria map with Cyprus! Cyprus does look like a heck of a lot of work and probably another 10 to 15 GB.

Have to add my congrats also on this map... Flew around in the A10c for a few hours taking in the scenery. The level of detail is exceptional and I'll be cutting my teeth in the Hind in this map, once its released...
