skypickle Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I wonder if we could have a table of VR headset + video card + settings. In particular, I'm interested in what people are getting out of the HP G1 and which video card they are driving it with. 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal
The_Nephilim Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Well I guess to be of any use we would need to set a basic settings and mission to fly so the test will have a baseline and not just some random tests.. What would vyou suggest for a mission to use maybe make it a su25t or T-51 plane and for VR Maybe try settings on VR Setting in game.. speed-of-heat Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I get a stable 45fps with motion vector, and between 45-65 fps without;except for very high unit count missions (max numbers) or very low over dense forest looking sideways. stormrider Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Everything on low except terrain res on High and visibility on Medium, now MSAA or anything, shadows flat and I get 90fps in Georgia and around <45fps in Syria flying the F-16 with 1 wingman and nothing else. With more AI entities, things go down the drain rather quickly. Banned by cunts.

DutchJackal Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 (edited) I just fitted my Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC and ran DCS with my Rift CV1. (Waiting on my Reverb G2 to be delivered next month). I was able to set all sliders to the right except smoke density and heatblur. But to be honest, i just didn't try those 2 sliders yet. I also set the pixel density to 2.0 and VR mask to 1.00. My specs are i5 CPU running at 3,4 Ghz, 32 Gb RAM and Samsung 840 EVO ssd held together by a Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 motherboard. Starting on the super carrier and flying over Dubai I didnt get a single stutter. All went butter smooth. But somehow I didn't get the FPS counter to show up. Even tried binding it to another key but still no counter so I don't have exact frame rates... Side note: the 3080 wasn't even at full capacity because my PSU (750W) couldn't give it enough power. So performance will be even better when I've replaced the PSU. Edited September 20, 2020 by DutchJackal
sirrah Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 As The_Nephilim said in the 2nd post of this thread.. At least ask people to use exactly the same mission and DCS settings, because without it (despite all good intentions) this thread is completely useless. skypickle Posted September 20, 2020 Author Posted September 20, 2020 Ok, i realize i forgot to specify a standard for testing. I asked for this information before taking the jump into vr so i really have no experience. I have a pascal class card overclocked to 2 gHz. Seeing someone get 90 FPS at 70% rendering is encouraging so i ordered an hp g2. Thank you to all who responded. 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal
ctguy1955 Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) I have a EVGA 2282 RTX 2080Ti with a EVGA Hydro Copper Block on it. Using a Rift CV1, and with the DCS provided FPS counter, I get 67FPS normally down low in the Persian Gulf between buildings.
