Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here ?

I finally managed to nail the Instant Action - F015C Bomber Intercept, taking down both waves of Migs and TU-22's and landing at base airfield with my AI Wingman. A really satifying experience for a noob.

I saved the track file immediately and decided to run the replay to enjoy my victory, only to find that I'm shot down by a R-27 from a Mig that I had taken out literally minutes earlier ! Interestingly, the Tacview replay recounts the original exactly as it happened with successful landings back at base.

Am I missing something ?

No . Track files have been borked forever . Nor are they likely to ever be fixed due to how they work . If you have the horsepower , better to record the video .

found that the tracks work well while keeping the original view. Without touching the external views or altering the playback speed and the cockpit views, but I don't know if it happens in all cases.

Playing the tracks while keeping the original views works for me.

I hope I can help

Because DCS isnt recording. Its just logging control inputs and re-running the simulation.

Tried the replay while maintaining the original view and you're right, it plays back perfectly! Thank you for that.

Actually, If I just keep to the original view past the point where it goes rogue I'm then able to then use other views to play it out.

Thanks all for the input.
