I don't know if this is considered a bug or not,but please increase intensity of Hud,the sunshaders and horizon are washing out the HUD too much even at full intensity

Yeah I'm just learning to fly the Warthog and I can barely see my HUD most of the time. Especially while making turns its terrible.

I wonder if it's this bad in the real aircraft.

My gamma is 2.2. But all other aircraft seem normal and I don't recall having any issues with them.We just need an extra bump in the intensity slider on the ufc.

Yep, it's a great shame that there was no HUD brightness adjustment on the A-10C. If you do a search, you'll find threads showing how to alter a lua file to make changes manually.

There is a brightness setting for the HUD and it's not set to the highest setting by default. It's the little rocker switch right in front of you. The first thing I do is turn it up when getting into the cockpit.

It's still hard to read when facing the sun. Why don't we have a shaded visor option? Pale green is a lousy color. Dark yellow shows up much better.

INER rocker switch on the UFC adjusts the brightness of the HUD. :book:

Have you tried flipping the HUD to night setting? I personally don’t like the night setting active, during night ops, as it actually seems more glaring with NVG’s.

Anyway, you could try it during day ops to see if your eyes like the orange tone better than the green....

Yes, I did. It's no better. I made the Viper yellow and it's by far the best color. I can still see it flying right at the sun. I use it in BMS too but it also has a shaded visor that can be pulled down. I wish DCS would have that feature.

A helmet mounted visor would definitely be something I would enjoy as well.

How on earth can this be [Correct as is]?

This isn't a real life jet. It's a representation of the HUD, in 2D, in a video game. Everyone's experience is different, and the ability to make something readable in-game without having to mess about in .lua files would be most helpful.

It isn’t an issue for me at all, VR user, so possibly a 2D issue? Certainly at times, the HUD can become more difficult to read, like flying toward the sun for example, but that is to be expected and the other 3 aircraft I fly are also affected in a similar way.

It's INTEN, but wow! Thanks for that. After all this time, I never realised that. There are so many threads on how to adjust the HUD brightness!

Thank you!

No worries, happy something helped you. Apologies for the mislabeling of the switch - going from memory without having a direct reference to the switch name - but knew it was close enough to point someone in the correct direction. INTEN (short for intensity) certainly makes more sense than INTER.

HUD green too light?

I would like to darken the green hud or maybe have a black hud. where are the files for the color located and does anyone have a suggestion for the numbers?

HUD difficult to see.

I do find the HUD difficult to see. Is there any way of altering the depth of shade or even the colour altogether like with the VRS F18? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Neil.
