Cmptohocah Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Hello, Will we ever be able to control SAM batteries like the KUB, BUK etc. from first person? This option would be amazing to have. Thanks in advance. Cmptohocah=CMPTOHOCAH
Mars Exulte Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 The Buk is not a multi-unit SAM. It has integrated FC and tracking radar, thus the large bulb on the front. I'm 99% certain it used to be controllable years ago, but is not anymore for some inexplicable reason. When CA is not ED's red headed stepchild, we might see some improvements, but until then don't hold your breath. 2 Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
Northstar98 Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) What zhukov said (at least for the 9A310M1 TELAR, we don't have the 9A39M1 TEL or any other of the SA-11s common battery components) and also don't forget is that basically all of the units that can be directly controlled by the player are pretty heavily simplified, with certain functions generic - DCS still has several long ways to go before it's something more similar to a full-fidelity vehicle simulator. Though it has been quasi-teased in the past with potentially a high-fidelity ground vehicle module, nothing has ever come into fruition. Tippis Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Technically, the HQ-7 is a controllable multi-unit SAM, but it's… not entirely worth-while, let's say. The launcher can do everything on its own and if you try to drive the STR, you get a nice big radar display that you can't do anything with. ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. One cannot land; the other shoots friendlies. You are a Goon. ❧ ❧
VTJS17_Fire Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 IMO, the SA-11/Buk should be first person view controlable, like the SA-6. It's an self propelled unit with the missiles on it's chassis and the TR, too. It also can operate as a single unit, without the SR unit. All other SAM units with this attributes are player controlable. @BIGNEWY Do you know, why we can't control it by self? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 17, 2021 ED Team Posted February 17, 2021 Hi, Currently we support vehicles with weapons only, but with units like the BUK the systems ( cockpit, radar, missiles ) are spread between vehicles, its something we are planning for the future, but I have no news to share currently. thank you 1 3 Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
