Altitude! Altitude! I KNOW IKNOW!!

I have tried shutting up the Altitude! Altitude! nagging by using ALLOW 0 via the UFC/DED yet she still constantly yells at me. Is there another step to shutting her up?

I don't fly the 16, but I think you can change the altitude at which she gives you that warning (or turn the warning off) using a dial on your radar altimeter.  That is how it works in the Hornet anyways.

I think you mean LIST?  Where in the LIST section is this controlled?

No You should have two options: ALOW setting and LIS setting (Line in the Sky). You should be able to set both in the same page i believe.

"Betty Switch" on the right console just "below" the stick to shut off all Betty calls (if correctly implemented in DCS).

You have 2 ALTS that cause Betty to shout. One is AGL (default 500'), the other is MSL (default 5000')

speaking of altitude warnings - is it just me, or is the break X on MFCDs absolutely spastic? i sometimes get it even while several hundred feet above ground, pitching up, over flat terrain.

is it bugged?

Correct. And they can be changed by pressing “2” on UFC and editing the defaults via UFC, dobber down to change next setting (believe it’s RadAlt and then Floor?), then dobber “return” to exit.

You have two thresholds for the altitude warning, like others already said. The first is for your radar altimeter and the second is for your barometric altimeter. If you don't want to hear the altitude - altitude warning anymore you have to set both to 0ft and it works like advertised.

 

No warning from barometric(5000ft default) or radar(500ft default) altimeter, but you still get every other message from betty.
