TrackIr alternatives

Planning to buy head tracking system but TrackIr5 is a bit expensive. Are there any alternatives that actually work with dcs flawlessly?

Depends what you define as flawless.  Do a search in this forum and there are a number of threads with debate/discussion on the alternatives.  I only have TIR, but from what I've seen the short version seems to be it (in most cases) works straight out of the box whereas most of the other solutions require some degree of tweaking/experimentation after which some are very happy with them and some give up on them.  YMMV.

I used Delanclip with opentrack before i switched to VR. Was a bit tricky to adjust, but worked well overall. The set with the wired system was 70€ i think, shipped from the UK. They also got a wireless version, but i can say anything about it.

I know delanclip but I live in the eu and theirwebsite is in the Uk and now that they are no longer part of eu they may be tariffs and delays in the delivery.

An arduino uno, plus an AHRS module, plus a free firmware you can found digging a little bit in google. 10€ solution that works perfectly with Opentrack.

I have the wireless Delanclip attached to a Corsair HS70 wireless headset. I'm very happy with the setup.

Aliexpress just 3€ at the door of your home. You don’t need an expensive thing. But you can use it if you want.

I know of a couple free/low cost alternatives that involve an Android or iOS device you probably already own.

#1. Is the option I've used in the past and been happy with.  $10 Trackir alternative using a smart device SmoothTrack.

#2 is free but is more difficult to setup and only works on Android.  Free Trackir replacement Gimbaltrack.

I think there is third option on that blog that uses the phones accelerometer but I can't seem to find it?  I could be misremembering.
