Anyway time to accustom that Ka-50 doesn't take 10 pylons with 500 kg bombs, and only two, not much fireworks :D

But I guess if you fly high enough to get out of your own bombs danger zone you'll catch a stinger or two and that IS firework ;)

I wonder what delivery patterns look like, I mean you can't deliver them flying NOE because of the blast radius, plus I don't think that a slow helo can loft bombs effectively. And overflying the target at high altitude (for a helo) is only feasible if you don't expect much resistance or other forces have the enemy pinned down.

 

 

You do it in pairs. The first hello goes in with rockets, creating hell on the ground and, while there's still confusion, the second comes in and finishes the job with bombs... that's how they did it with Mi-24

Bombs are useful for low intensity warfare and demolition purposes. There are reports that Mi-24s in Afghanistan carried up to ten 100kg bombs (presumably four on each of the inner pylon and one on each of the outer pylons). The Ka-50 is also reportedly cleared to carry the KGMU (I read somewhere that you can fire each chamber separately - but I haven't been able to track down the source).

It's a bit small on the picture to be absolutely sure, but it does look like a twin Igla launcher. Like this one (well, this one is a quad):

Found this picture which is almost the same, but they've switched the Vikhrs and Iglas on the right. Here you can clearly see that the Vikhrs are quite a bit bigger than the Iglas.
