I have identified a couple bugs that could -potentially- break a .miz file structure. I am fixing them and expect to release a new version over the weekend, once I am done introducing a new feature as well 🙂

Awesome! thank you. Eager to see the new feature.

Updated link on first page to the v1.8.6, for those who never installed (for the rest, simply update via the program). Here, as well, for convenience:

Download GV5Js Datacard Generator v1.8.6

This will probably be the last v1.8 version (unless some nasty bug pops up and I can quickly fix). I will now start thinking on features to introduce for a v1.9 release 🙂

Edit: Murphy's Law acted again... discovered a small bug with applying custom skins from the program, and pushed a correction, v1.8.7. BTW, v1.9 will come with a full user manual, documenting all these, often unnoticed, features 🥳

Fantastic work, however I am finding a fair few bugs, do you have a way to report (Discord? Github?) rather than posting in here? I'd love to help you improve the software!

Yeah, I know... difficult to get time to work on this project nowadays, plus it got way bigger than originally planned. I did not set up any kind of community for it, as I am not even sure how many people might be using it, but feel free to ddrop me a message with whatever findings you have, or post them here, and I will have a look 🙂

Do you have any interest in making a public GitHub branch that people could fork and contribute to? It’d take a lot of the continued development pressure off of you.

Thx, I appreciate the offer but, for the time being, I manage to maintain it 🙂 Of course, rest assured that if at some point in time I don't feel able to keep up, I would release it publicly so anyone could pick up (although that would also require a serious clean-up first).

In a non-related topic... v1.8.8 is out! I hope the new functionality (WiP) will prove useful!!

Fair enough. Incidentally, is there a place to modify the list of RAMRODs, code words and selected brevity for a specific mission? Also, can we add different fonts? I tried looking through the files in the root folders but didn't see any that were editable. I might have missed them though. lol

Hi,

  • RAMROD/Code words: at the moment they are hard-coded, but i might read them from a file in the future (noted). If you want to change them for a specific mission, just click on the mission datacard and write the new ones. They will be kept on export (what you see gets exported)
  • Fonts: this is a WiP and I am debugging some memory issues when changing the font, so you can choose the default or one of the fonts offered with the program. Using a system font is not supported (different fonts have different alignment)

Hi @MicMic

It looks like your monitor resolution is a bit short of the required width to show two tabs at the same time, so you can:

  • Drag one tab from the left pane to the right, to use that white space... and see how does it fit
  • Use the button on the top, to switch to single-tab layout (next to the cog wheel)

I am still trying some other options to better adapt to different resolutions... but sometimes there is just not space enough to comfortably show 2 tabs plus the center panel at the same time (in this cases, the center panel will get stretched). I think you could live with that, as the center panel is most useful by the map tab, and if you switch to the fullscreen map, then you won't have any issue, because the panel gets detached and becomes a floating panel that you can drag around and show/hide at will.

Gracias. No problem to use with this solution. 😉

Hola otra vez. Could be possible to choose the channel number on the "Preset Frecuencies Override". It will be nice because other user could have another presets assigned for each dependency. For example, I have channels 1 to 4 for airfields, 5 for unicom, 6 to 8 for táctical, 9 to 13 for tankers... and the same for interflights channels and frecuencies.

Very nice app. 👌

Hi Raus !

Just found this incredible program.

Brilliant !

A couple of questions:

-In regard to the pop-up calculator function:  when using CBU's, do you suggest to set the "bomb type" to "HI DRAG" or "LO DRAG" ?

-Steerpoint Coordinates: In the F-15E the coords. are in this format: X.00.00.000 Y.00.00.000 , I don't see this option yet on the program. Do you plan to add it ?

-Customization: if I want to create a custom squadron logo, after selecting the logo, you say on point 3 "Select the radio button to apply" Which "radio button" ?

Which key should use ?

Thanks !!

quick answer, away from home...

- I would use low drag. Hi drag is for retarde bombs (with a parachute or similar)

- I did not realize... will add the option with next version, should be easy

- A radio button is just this small circular selector under the two text fields. Just google radio button and you'll see how it looks like 🙂

I've just had a quick look at this. If I got it right the F-15E format is DD.MM.MMM (Degrees-Minutes-Decimal minutes). You already have that, only I am providing 4 decimal digits for the minutes. If you truncate/round the last digit, you should be fine 😉 But as I said, I just had a very quick look...let me know if I am missing the point.

Hi !

Yes, that's correct and what you suggest is what I did so far.

Obviously I could live with that...not a big issue 😊.

If (as you said) should be easy to add the correct layout, then it would be great to have it, that way wouldn't be necessary to edit each digit for each waypojnt.

Thanks !!

Hi Guys

First of all thanks for this amazing program. Lately im having a error and cannot save the data cards:

nullimage.png

If created the folder runcards and it fixes the problem for one save but only worked for a while, cause the program keeps deleting them. Is there any solution for this?

Thanks for the help.

@negrete this one should be easy to pinpoint. Can you give me a little more info? It would be helpful if you can show the details on the exception window, and also share which map was that .miz located in. I will have a look and upload an update to the program, in case it is needed 🙂

HI Raus

Thanks for all the help. The map is Siria. And I think is that these temp folders are missing but probably im wrong. Thanks again.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
