Tshark Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Have you tried contacting VR WAVE? I have had mine for about two weeks and not had any problem with them falling off. 9800X3D (5.21GHz Turbo), MSI RTX 4090 OC 24GB, ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING Motherboard, G. I got frustrated and put them back in the case. I just don't like the design really. The vroptician has a cuplike design that I think would be better for my taste. I should of did more research but I was to anxious to get a pair. 0.webp Edited March 29, 2021 by Burt ALIENWARE R11 - I9 10900KF @ 5.1 GHz - M.2 NVMe 2TB - RTX3090 - XFURY 64GB -3400 MHz RAM Monitor AW3420DW @ 120Hz - Virpil CM3 Throttle - TM TPR Rudder pedals - Virpil CM2 w/TM Hornet Stick Center - Monstertech Deck Mounts RealSimulator FSSB-R3 Lightning Base w/ F16SRGRH SideStick - VR user / Varjo Aero - Big Thx to mbucchia Start Date April 2020
melchionda Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 I am right there with you. I use Pimax 8KX and I think there is maybe one or two choices out there for prescription inserts for that headset. I went with the VRMust inserts. I think I must have been their first customer. They were clueless as to what prescription I should use for the inserts... (Reading or Distance.... it turns out you need to use the "Distance" prescription). When I got them the lenses were too narrow...ie the edge of the lenses was visible in my field of view; which defeats the point of having a Pimax headset with a massive field of view. Also, the Insert was overly complicated, consisting of 5 parts that are loosely held together inside the headset. I gave them some feedback on the design including some drawings of what the frame should look like. I'd love to find a better solution. I SportRX makes an insert which I think could work really well. https://www.sportrx.com/prescription-ski-goggle-insert.html However they don't do a blue light coating, which I think is really important for a VR headset. I'd get a set from them just to try it out but they will not sell the insert with out lenses. 1 CPU: Intel Core i9 10900K - GPU: ASUS ROG Strix 3090 OC Edition - Mobo: Asus ROG Maximus XII Formula Motherboard - RAM: 64 GB HyperX - EK Open Loop liquid-cooling - PSU: FSP Hydro+ PTM 1200 Watt liquid-cooled Power Supply - PIMAX 8KX Headset ThrustMaster Warthog Throttle and Stick - Winwing Landing and Combat Panels - MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals
Supmua Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Another option is multi focal contact lens if you don’t want to deal with glasses. PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti. Burt Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Now I'm thinking about a set of contacts as my VRWAVE lenses are useless. When your playing BFM and have to lift the headset up to check things on monitor and keyboard peeks ect. , they just scrape my forehead and occasionally fall out, they also touch the bridge of my nose too, I just don't think its a good idea to press them back on the G2 lenses with force. It's just not for me I guess, so now I'm thinking a pair of contact lenses and I wonder if they just make a +225 readers. Back to some research. Allentc2 Posted April 17, 2021 Author Posted April 17, 2021 Just revisited this thread. Still haven't gotten my VR headset yet (understanding all this stuff is like learning a new language). One thing I did notice....I ONLY have bifocals. Wear them all the time. So when I go to get these lens inserts, I want to use the distance prescription, right? Thanks again for all the input. Super helpful.
