Brainfreeze Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I like the products but I am really frustrated by the ordering system / sales team at this point. Change a shipping address? - Not possible -> reorder -> back of the queue Add an accessory? - Not possible - reorder -> back of the queue Combine 2 orders into 1 to save shipping? Not possible -> reorder -> back of the queue I just gave up. Hello Thurstmaster i9 14900K / 64GB / RTX 4090 / Varjo Aero / Winwing Orion2 + F15EX / Virpil Wrbrd + Alpha Stick + ACE pedals

I´m still at Thrustmaster (cheers ) but start thinking about Virpil products. Therefore, I´m really interetsted in their Service etc. Edited March 18, 2021 by xoxen AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus, 64GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600 CL16, Asus TUF Gaming RTX 4080 OC, Windows 11 64bit Home Premium, TrackIR 5 with TrackClip: Pro!, Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base + TM Warthog Stick + 7cm extension + WINWING Orion 2 with F-15EX grips, Cougar MFDs with 8" displays, Saitek Rudder Pedals, Samsung Odyssey G9 49" 5120x1440 @120 Hz

I've been using them for a year now. I love the pendular motion, much more realistic than the twisty in/out of normal pedals. Expensive, but worth it. After the (long) weekend I got a reply from their support that they changed my address for the order (but it was just a minor change). I have to agree with this. I ordered a CM2 Throttle, three desk mounts, a CM2 base, alpha stick, and keyboard mount last October. The wait time was what they initially said it was. It processed and shipped ahead of the time I was quoted by support. Support responded to me within one working day with every question I had. When it all showed up missing a rubber pad they had it shipped to me within one working day free of charge. Since I have ordered a CM3 Throttle and a Control Panel #2 (separate orders). They both were processed and shipped ahead of the quoted timeframe. It is rather sad to me to see people slam Virpil here and in the Virpil forum only to be answered by a rep that they either never put in a ticket, or that support answered their ticket within HOURS.
imacken Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 You are talking about an isolated case there, and there is little point in that. There clearly was a misunderstanding in that case. I have bought a lot of Virpil gear over several orders and I would say that 4 out of 5 pieces of kit have required either a send back, or the intervention of tech support to resolve issues. On several occasions, this took weeks, as support took about a week to answer each question. Sometimes this was a simple yes or no to which I responded to immediately. I am not trying to criticise Virpil as I am a loyal fan of their kit and the people in the company. However, you can see the number of complaints both here and on the VPC forums from people with the same complaints over and over. Now, that is clearly not to say this is typical of customer experience, as we all know it is just the ones who have an issue that write on forums, in general. However, there are sufficient numbers of people with the same complaints over and over to suggest that there are areas that VPC need to improve upon both in QA and speed of customer service. 1 Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box

Fully agree with that last statement. Whilst I was overall very pleased with my support ticket so far, the initial response was slow and took valuable time. Once I decided to take them up on their offer to return my CM3 throttle for repair, they were very prompt and had it repaired and shipped back out two days after it arrived there. It is in Fed EX hands now, I am hoping to see it again this upcoming week. However the ideal thing would have been, had no support ticket been required in the first place. I would not be be doing without right now. They must not have a well defined QA testing of the units prior to shipping, my issue would have been caught easily and never should have shipped with it. Virpil is the first and only brand of peripherals I have had need of a support ticket for. Had it with my first Mongoos stick when it was first released, and now this CM3 throttle. I do love the throttle though and can't wait to have it back in hand. Having to go back to the Warthog throttle for a short time has not been pleasant to say the least. And I gotta fly man each and every day lol. FeistyLemur Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 My experience with them with the throttle I bought was pretty good with the CM2 throttle. It had one dead toggle switch, and they shipped me an entire new inner button assembly for it since it's all one piece and not easy to replace a switch, and did not ask me to ship the other one back, also duties and shipping were all paid on the replacement. That was a while back though. I will soon find out how good they are these days though since I just got an MCG, and VFX and the MCG has a busted off flip trigger that I had to open a ticket for. I guess that's 2 out of 2 orders needing a support ticket, but the amount of time I spent screwing around with my TM warthog re-greasing and maintaining that thing was not any more enviable.
