If the MiG-29A gets released  would their be any chance of seeing an ff G?  I believe the only differences between the a and g are upgrades the Germans made so I don't believe there is anything on it restricted by the Kremlin.

What are the clear difference between Mig 29G and the one ED is doing on the Full fidelity module?

Need to see some Mig 29s with a difference.

I'm guessing a NATO compatible IFF system, which won't work anyway until DCS gets improved IFF across the board.

Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

Peripherals: VKB Gunfighter Mk.II w. MCG Pro, MFG Crosswind V3 Graphite, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

If that's it then we just need a livery

Well, and a new cockpit, assuming there's an updated control head.

But I doubt that a new IFF system was the only thing, it's just one of things I'm pretty sure on.

Good question. Sadly I don't know.  If they are too close there's no point unless it is really cheap

If they are really close then this should be a 2fer pack.

Isn't there also a tacan receiver on the mig29G?

Probably is.

I think it is not too different than the Mig 29 that ED has taken up to develop as a module. Even RAZBAM could only get their hands on the Mig 23 MLA and not the more versatile MLD. So, it is safe to say even Mig 29S or SE won't be possible as it stands. We'll just have to settle for the FC3 levels on that.

Then there is the lack of NATO specific communication tools and Identification friend or foe systems.

I am not asking about the 29s. Though I am trying to figure out the g which was used to denote the German upgrades in the 1990s.  I am not sure if the Germans changed much or if they simply swapped out navigation and iff for standard nato systems. If the second is the case then the a and g will basically be the same.  The s, m and k are all arguments for something like flaming cliffs or MAC being compatible with dcs for on line games. The Kremlin isn't going to let us go full fidelity with those. However since we have rather a modern f-16 and F-18 with someone working on a Typhoon we also need decent Redford and fc or MAC modules could work.

The most advanced NATO MiG-29 is the Slovakian MiG-29AS I believe. There are a number of shots from 29AS cockpits online such as this one

The G is basically as we can tell from its FC3 version just barely modified.

I would love to get a G! Fun to fly a BLUFOR Fulcrum, especially with a proper English cockpit 😁

The main additions/changes from the A to the G are:

  • A new IFF/SIF transponder
  • The UHF radio with fixed frequencies was replaced by a VHF/UHF radio with manually-selectable frequencies
  • An emergency ratio
  • TACAN navigation equipment
  • Anti-collision lights
  • Instruments and lettering switched from Russian and metric to English and feet/miles/knots
  • Integration of GPS with the navigation system
  • Wing drop tanks

(Due to funding problems, not all Gs got the last two upgrades.)
