iLOVEwindmills Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Yes I know you are supposed to have them removed before starting, but once every now and then you forget especially after flying different aircraft. It feels insanely silly to sit there, immobile, with the ground crew completely ignoring you and forced to do a complete restart. Either allow it to be removed at any time or just automatically remove it when you start your engine. There's no point to keeping them on anyway. 1

iLOVEwindmills Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 And you are totally right, could have saved myself a thread but I see it's not even mentioned in the changelog when searching for it.
Draken35 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 It is not in the change log... I discovered it by... hum... accident? Let's hope it stay fixed
Fri13 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Hmmm... Great if so.... Need to try out, as it is realistic that chocks are removed in last moments when engine has been running long time already. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Sabre_Ewan Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 I flew a couple of days ago in open beta, and it definitely wasn't fixed/changed. Ground crew still ignored me and wouldn't remove chocks.
Aernov Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 I am flying regularly, since 2.7 update wheel chocks can be removed before taxi, with engine on.

Pardon the jerkiness of the recording and the lack of helmet audio (VR user here) and pay no attention to the abbreviated startup and the fact that I did not notice that my nozzles where at 82 degrees, but it shows that you can in fact remove and place wheel chocks with the engine on. Recorder in the latest beta build as of the time of this post. 001.trk
Sabre_Ewan Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 I don't need to see a track, I believe you that it happened! I've just also had the opposite experience, so it clearly isn't 100% fixed.
Draken35 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 You mentioned that the ground crew ignored you...As in they did not answer your request? If recall correctly, before they answered "unable to comply) to the request to remove the chocks... Was this in a FARP or Airfield?
D4n Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 (edited) IT'S WORKING!! No mention in any changelog (RAZBAM forgot?), but ground-crew can now not only remove wheel chocks with engine running, but even with tension on the wheel-chocks! (With forward thrust set!) crazy! Nice! Vakarian Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 This was fixed for at least one update before yesterdays one
D4n Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 maybe was purely a change by ED without RAZBAM having had to adjust anything, maybe that's why we didn't see any such changelog-entry. Vakarian Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 No, RB fixed it couple of updates ago. I believe one update after they were introduced so no biggie
D4n Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 well, for months the engine had to be off to remove the wheelchocks, that was the (apparently unrealistic?) issue. Draken35 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 It was fixed last May and there is video evidence (posted here, somewhere) that of marines removing the chokes of Harriers with the Pegasus running, during, what appears to be, normal operations... But, iirc, it was not posted in the change log back then, and yes, it was like that for several months (since January, I think)
