gmangnall Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) It seems that radio transmissions to the Tl1155 (not the Tl1143) stop after a few minutes. If you set a unit (eg a truck) with it transmitting a looped wav file on say 130Mhz then you can listen all day on teh TR1143, however if you do the same on 3Mhz and listen on the TR1155 when you can hear it for a couple of minutes (inc DF) after which it cuts out completely (inc DF). As such it's not possible to use DF properly Edited September 26, 2021 by gmangnall typo

RedRabbit_61 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 (edited) Is there still a bug in the radio transmission in Multiplayer? I'm trying to set up a radio beacon for the Mosquito's to follow using a unit with a set frequency and an ogg file. works fine in Single Player, won't work in MP. I've tried using triggers and nothing works. I've been able to use a sound file with triggers in the past but not as a radio broadcast. I'm trying to repeat what Reflected Simulations showed in a recent Mosquito video using a navigation beacon and period radio broadcasts. Edited September 27, 2021 by RedRabbit_61

I'm trying to repeat what Reflected Simulations showed in a recent Mosquito video using a navigation beacon and period radio broadcasts. I've managed to get this working on MP and with multicrew by having a random vehicle broadcast the transmition with a looped OGG file fine, but it only seemed to work if I had the broadcasting vehicle as the same faction i.e allied to allied - So I just hid the allied broadcasting vehicle around the corner of the chosen enemy target. Also for some reason on Multicrew only the pilot could hear the radio audio (OGG file) but the direction finder worked perfectly. This worked fine (for the pilot) with several low range frequencies 4mHz, 6mHz, 8mHz, 9mHz - the issue I have now is that the same OGG file for some reason seems to transmit on all frequencies I have active, even if they're set to a different OGG files it clones one to them all - this is a Mission Editor issue i think.
gmangnall Posted September 30, 2021 Author Posted September 30, 2021 I dont think that it's a bug. I was turning on the high as well as the low power T1154 power switch. Swithing on the low power switch only causes no issues. I therefore suspect that this is deliberately modelled and using the highpower switch is modelled to blow a fuse/valve when used incorrectly. I don't know how to do so but I feel this can be closed.

Reflected Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 I'm getting reports by players that 'radio tranmission' triggers on a zone stop after a few minutes despite being set to 'loop'. Only in MP though, in SP they work well. So probably not a Mossie bug, but core DCS bug. 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
RedRabbit_61 Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 (edited) Not sure if it is a bug or not but I seam to be having trouble with 'radio transmissions' on the Marianas map in the Mossie. I just don't hear the ogg file, however the RDF can locate the signal. Edited October 2, 2021 by RedRabbit_61

I found this to work on MP servers. I've tested it an now running it on a few missions on my groups MP server

To hear a transmission the beacon needs to be the same country as the one listening for it. I was trying to place a radio broadcast of Tokyo Rose on an island with the mission plan of knocking her off the air. So the work around is place the beacon close to the tower but out of line of sight of the forces protecting the tower.
ED Team [ED]Ben Posted October 4, 2021 ED Team Posted October 4, 2021 We have problems with beacons reported in MP - One thing to note is that if the client joins after the beacon starts transmitting, then the client will not hear it. Currently best practice to put any beacons on a timed trigger to restart every 5 mins or so, even if set to run on a loop. 1
