johnjar Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) I am having trouble flying the Mosquito. I am using the force feedback setting with my Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. I am flying free flight from the instant action menu. The problem is the nose keeps going up. I can push the stick forward and make the nose go down, but when I center the stick it goes up again. So the stick is working and the nose keeps going up. Also adjusting the trim or the throttle does not help. If I use a stick that is not force feedback (X56), it works fine. I have the P-51D module and it work fine with the same settings. Please, tell me if I can supply more information. Thank you very much for your help! johnjar, johnsonjar28@yahoo.com I was wrong. I just checked again and my X56 stick has the same problem. I am sure it was working before. So I don't know what has changed. Can you give some things to try or some things to check. Thanks again! speed-of-heat Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 can you trim it out? speed-of-heat Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 and have you checked that multiple axis are not bound SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
johnjar Posted October 4, 2021 Author Posted October 4, 2021 No trimming does not help. No multiple axis are bound. I tried a simpler stick with no force feedback ( Logitech Extreme 3D Pro ) and it works great. I also reinstalled the X56 software and that did not fix the problem. Thanks for the help, I will double check them.
Art-J Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Using game flight mode instead of simualtion one? Trims and FFB are often known to not work with either of these. In a similar spirit - using game flight controls assignments for simulation flight mode, or simulation control assignments for game flight mode? i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
johnjar Posted October 4, 2021 Author Posted October 4, 2021 I have never used game flight mode for any aircraft. I don't think I have setup any game flight mode controls either. Also I don't see how they could get reversed; if that is what you mean. I am sorry but I don't fully understand what you wrote. Please, explain it in more detail. I am not saying you are wrong. I just don't understand. I'm always ready to learn something new. Thanks for your help!
johnjar Posted October 4, 2021 Author Posted October 4, 2021 I have rotary controls assigned to each of the trims. I found that if I first adjust each trim to get straight and level flight using the keyboard; I can then make adjustments as needed using each rotary. I never had to do this for the P-51D. I guess just another difference between British and American planes. I'm still not sure it is working right, but at least it is kind of flyable. More help will be greatly appreciated!

This part sounds unusual. It really seems like the Mossie has some trim issues with input devices as per the other thread on trim sensitivity. 1
rkk01 Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 I found the Mossie difficult to trim using the “click pit” trim adjusters… The good news though - getting a good trim is dead easy once mapped, in my case to the stick hat switches (well, to two of them) I have rudder trim and elevator trim mapped to one hat switch and aileron trim to another My “process” for trimming after take-off - dial out the T/O rudder trim - trim nose down to dial out the very strong nose up tendency - add some aileron trim to neutralise the left roll tendency She will then fly pretty steady with only occasional and fairly minimal stick inputs

What I mean is - both flight modes use separate control assignment tables in options ("easy" and "real" / "sim" ) and it's possible to bind controls in easy category and fly in sim mode by mistake (or the other way around). Unexperienced DCS players do that sometimes. 18 hours ago, johnjar said: I have rotary controls assigned to each of the trims. There was no difference between UK and US planes in this regard and thus their trims implementation in the sim should be and work the same. Just one input device, whether keyboard or Joystick/HOTAS, should suffice. That being said, it's not uncommon for early access DCS airplane to have FFB support messed up somehow. I don't own Sidewinder FF2, though, so can't help more I'm afraid. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
