Hello @IronMike,

Recently Heatblur updated the FAQ and listed Forrestal info as such:

The free version of the USS Forrestal will have feature parity with the USS Stennis at minimum once complete.

So, my question is about Mr. Greenshirt - teased back in 2017.

Was he dumped altogether or rather he will he get his buddies to work together on the deck?

Shall we expect that, once released, you will still work on the Forrestal deck crew or do you  just want to deliver the Forrestal to complete the promise of a free carrier and move on to other projects?

Thanks!

I don't think so. Odds are, the models and animations will still get used, it just won't be to the same level that the SCM carriers have. You may see the plane director guide you onto the cat, and he may still give the signal to launch, but you may not get all the other animations that go with it (such as the guy attaching the hold-back bar). Remember, these are the guys that made that animation of the pilot saluting the cat crew for launch, so I don't see heatblur allowing that to go to waist on any of the carriers they make.

Unfortunately not, for the time being. However, we are in discussion with ED, to add parts of the Forrestal class ships to the SC module - and then we'll see if we will be able to re-use the deck crew. Please remember: when we showed off the deck crew, DCS Supercarrier was not really a thing yet. 🙂 We'll see how it goes, fingers crossed! But until then there won't be any deck crew on the Forrestal, at least not on release. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Thank you for the answer. I appreciate that as I was looking for exact that information. Thanks again.

I don't know why people have all these wrong expectations. Nowhere did HB state SC like features or an animated crew. All we have is this one render of the green shirt from the past. Proper animations and other crew assets would take up a significant amount of time which are almost equivalent to another DCS module. Once ED finishes their crew animations and AI using some API other developers might use that to their advantage. Until then everything would just be twice the amount of work.

Will still be possible to put static crew and parked planes on Forrestal deck?

Pretty much certainly.

I don't have an issue putting static objects on board ships like the Seawise Giant and the Stennis, so there's no reason why we can't on the Forrestal.

Pretty sure in Redkites video there's static deck equipment up on deck (or at least, I hope that's static equipment, and not stuff baked into the model like the Tarawa).

ED aren’t known for cooperating well with their third party developers lately, I would forget about this becoming a thing any time soon.

Not sure about how well they cooperate and surely don't want to cross reference other developer's issue to this thread.

In Russian forum Chizh said he thinks it is possible once the deck crew is finalized. I cross posted this in SD's thread for visibility:
