Tomcat-Flyer Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 I think pushback cars on aircraft carriers could be a great advantage for the look and as well for getting in those small parking positions. In my opinion, you can not really get on the elevators well, without a tow. Even the AI uses an "invisible" pushback car... And a few, moving vehicles on the carriers wouldn't hurt either! They wouldn't be out of place on the airfields either, because they would give you the opportunity to get into the hangars. 3
fagulha Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 We have tow tractors/tows in the Supercarrier and fire trucks. But yes, it will be a step up to they actually move and do their thing. 2 About carrier ops: "The younger pilots are still quite capable of holding their heads forward against the forces. The older ones have been doing this too long and know better; sore necks make for poor sleep.' Last week i used ModelViewer to check animations (Supercarrier, Ground Units, etc) but missed the tow trucks. Going to check! it´s a good sign. Tomcat-Flyer Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Thank you for your reply, guys! I just wanted to say that tows that really move you would be great. And yes, there are tows in the Supercarrier module are animated, but they can't move aircrafts. 3
Tomcat-Flyer Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 DCS would become much more realistic... And if they would push you onto the taxi-line automatically, with only directional information, you could just keep driving.they would push you onto the taxi-line automatically, you could just keep driving. 2
draconus Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 You'd have to exit the aircraft before towing so what fun that would be beside others on the MP server, where you see abandoned aircraft are taken away from the taxi ways or moved on the deck on a carrier? Tank50us Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 The best place I think for such vehicles would be to push you back when you're rearmed/refueled so you can taxi out, or, to pull your plane out of the dirt and onto a the apron where you can move again after repairs. That to me would be a real welcome addition. 1

Perhaps I misunderstand what you are saying, but in general someone has to man the cockpit during towing procedures. In case the tow bar accidentally disconnects, the person inside the cockpit is able to stop the aircraft. 2 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
