HP G2 Tracking Issue

Hi,

Occasionally in the cockpit my G2 had a bit of a fit and slews vision madly ... so presumably seems to be a tracking issue. Anyone else experiencing this lately and how could I try to solve please? Maybe it is the change of light at this time of year in the UK - except my room is well lit?

When that happens I do a reset environment in WMR settings and it's resolved

I had something similar when I moved my system around.  In the SteamVR environment (the one with the grid and mountains in the distance) I noticed that the arrow on the "floor" was offset and not directly in-front of me when looking down.  I opened the SteamVR dashboard with the G2 controller and re-centered the view by looking straight ahead and clicking on the button that has the little person with a circular arrow around them.  This solved the problem for me.  Just too bad you can't use the mouse on the SteamVR dashboard, but it is a minor annoyance.

Yup I had to do that last weekend and it’s the only time I use my controllers is to recenter every once in awhile.

Poor tracking here too, specially in MP and with the Tomcat. Tracking was ok until two or three weeks ago.

Tshark (or other users), I don't have G2 controllers (I use VR only for flight simulators), can I use XBox controller to access SteamVR dashboard?

Exactly my issue - re-centreing the position etc in that purple room didn’t work. Wonder if it is SteamVR beta?

I have tracking issues with G2 too, specially when looking on instruments left/right on F16, the display is moving a little bit

No problem with G1 in same room

Going to try USB-C connected without adapter to see if is any difference.

USB-C connector makes no difference. I tried re-center view in SteamVR, same results...

Try going to the windows mixed reality options in configuration, in ENVIRONMENT, delete the environment data and recalibrate it by moving your head left, right and down. If there is any change in your room environment, it can cause tracking problems since WMR "memorizes" your environment through the cameras.

Another problem can be poor lighting, this also causes tracking problems

Didn't understand very well Tshark solution for this issue, but yes, deleting enviroment data in WMR settings works for me, nice! I had to reboot twice because only have 2D tracking, but then it works. Thanks both of you

Reboot?! Alt+Tab from DCS to WMR when this happens and set up room boundary again. It takes 10sec max and you can do it even mid-flight.

I think is not possible without controllers, right? Anyway, I usually re-center the headset in seating experience option.

Still got problems  … tried rolling back to non-beta. Reset the seated environment in that purple screen setting page several times to no avail. Wonder what it could be?

Yea, reset the seated environmental didn’t work for me either. You need to go to WMR settings in Windows, I think you can access from WMR portal. And “Clear environment data”. Hope it helps.

This sorted me out - kudos to this pilot!

Solution:
1. Unplug the Reverb completely from your computer both USB & Displayport.
2. Go to Windows Settings, Apps, then uninstall Windows Mixed Reality.
3. Reboot
4. Reconnect the Reverb And let Windows Mixed Reality get installed again.
5. Configure controllers , room size etc
6. Install Steam VR & Windows Mixed Reality for Steam if it isnt installed already.
7. Start DCS.

Zero tracking issues for me now

Bump on any thoughts on the G3 …. worried it is not in development at all!
