Control and Key Binds wiped out with update to new version

Updated to 2.77 and all my keybinds and controller binds were wiped away.  Default bogus binds are now back in its place with Rudder also being aileron, toe brakes are pitch, and all my custom button settings made inside DCS are gone.  Including keybinds.  One example is the MAP,  I play in VR so I made spacebar map toggle so it is easier while wearing the HMD, that is now back to F10.

Furthermore, I was unable to load my input bindings save.  Invalid file apparently when loading my backup from the previous version.

This has happened to me at least a dozen times over the history of DCS.  Where all of my keybinds are wiped from existence on All aircraft.  Hours of time spent just gone...

I do not use 3rd party programs for bindings either, All of my bindings are done inside DCS.

i too had this happen. i do not use TARGET software or the like. fortunately i do a full backup of my computer weekly. i am going to restore the files and take a look and will report back. unfortunately this has happened many times in the past to other users and i do not think there is anything that can be done or anyone (quasi)official has accepted that there is even a problem. i have three main planes i fly and it sucks that first time trying to take off. scratch one viper / hornet / warthog.

The same happened to me with the new update.

Moreover, the Oculus Rift S controller had some very funky bindings. I managed to erase some of them (such as stick on controller replacing the actual stick input controlling the plane). I liked how in the old version I could bring up the pause menu with the left controller as well as I could focus the view with the right controller. Now these functions of the controller are gone.

I tried to map 'Zoom' to the Oculus controllers from the View menu, however, it does not actually zoom. Also, where can I find a Pause menu keybinding? I'd like to map that back to my Oculus controller.

Thanks for any help

Edit: I've found most of the keybindings I was looking for. Most of them were under general or UI settings for anyone in same boat

The bindings are a mess since the last (2.77) update. I don't know what ED genius decided to rename everything but there are many crontrols I simply can't find anymore. RPM? Thrust/Throttle?

Could we  PLEASE revert to the old names?

What were you thinking???

This was a mistake, obvisously. You never make mistakes, do you?

There was a translation issue which led to this. Commands are not gone, they have "raw" names. They all start with the word "input".

This will be fixed in the next OB update.

@Flappie I don't want to finger-point, but this glitch shows that there is (or hopefully was) a gap in the test plans. I expect that your team has plugged the gap and it won't happen again. But there is another concern: This is a rather disastrous bug and it's all over the place in the forum. It's a show stopper for a lot of people. In my opinion ED is taking far too long to provide a fix. In my opinion, this would have deserved an emergency update.
I reported this bug on 21-NOV-2021 and you confirmed it the same day (which I found positively remarkable). We have now suffered from it for almost a full month. That's too long for a show stopper.
If a personal note is allowed: The management of control bindings is a permanent can of worms, and the binding name localization for WWII aircraft is an additional headache nobody needed. If I had to decide, I would get rid of it altogether and revert to the original binding names.

certainly this counts as a very similar mistake. coding is difficult, especially with a melting pot of languages. and of course since this is BETA, these things happen. its reported and its fixed. there are countless other pilots that were able to circumvent the issue without pooping the crib. 😉

Thank you, Flappy. I'm glad it's being addressed. It's a pain because many words were changed to unfamiliar terms. For example, there is an input for "pitch" which I understand as the nose being pointed up or down. In his case, I finally figured out it means the prop RPM. Very different.

Yes, I make mistakes but rarely in work-related product.

So, uhm, what does "obvisously" mean? 😱

Happy Holidays!
