Outstanding find. I wondered how fast this would pop up on here. Plan on picking her up and getting acclimated while the Lancaster team continues getting her ready for DCS. Appreciate this post. 1
Tonker Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Would be interested in hearing how you get on with her. The most immediately interesting thing for me is that Echo 19 did the sounds, so it may be possible to reach out to them. I assume using sounds they recorded/developed for their Spitfire/Mustang Merlin engines, but it does sound good! I really think the Lanc is going to be transformative for DCS, opening an entirely new world for us. Too excited! 1 Nah, I've only just met 'er...:pilotfly:

AH has interesting choices but quality control is almost non-existent, bugs and problems are unfortunately typical in their case. 2 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 5090 32Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro

I have almost pulled the trigger several times, but held off. Flying Iron has crushed the WW2 scene in MSFS. HIGHLY recommend all their products. They are working a B-17 now for MSFS 2024 and then the team said they were redirecting all their focus to wrapping up the A-7. Really impressed with them. 2
Slippa Posted August 20 Posted August 20 How’s the ol girl coming along? Trust all’s well and everyone’s tip top and Bristol fashion on their landing techniques (mentioning no names, ahem) Keep it up 5
Slippa Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I was listening to something the other day and learnt that on the flight Dimbleby flew and reported on, his Pilot was Gibbo. I’ll have to read Enemy Coast Ahead again for a refresher. He should never have been asked to even begin forming 617 when he was asked to. He’d done more than enough already and was pretty battered. Amazing what some of those fellas went through. Looking through the thread a bit, just reposting this one (with gunners ). Best regards team 9
Slippa Posted September 14 Posted September 14 In the last picture overlooking the Merlin we see someone has his head in the cockpit, eyes down. I’m taking that to be Sq Ldr Scoobiedoobs, BriantheBrain, Loki or someone on the team and that they’re busy tinkering and humming happily away to themselves while they work. Holding on to ‘no news is good news’ is sketchy but it’s what I’m going with for now. Trust everyone and everything’s all good. Best regards . 2
BrianTheBrain Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Not sure if its been mentioned here but on the discord we've kinda talked about it a bit publicly: we are finalizing an AI release so that we can get it out into mission maker hands 5 1 Project Lancaster. Helping a little on Caffeine T-38C. F-111C because why not. T-6 Texan because its awesome (if you have to ask then no not that one, I hate that one). A few secret projects in the works. Please hire me to program an SBD Dauntless.
Slippa Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Cheers for posting here Brian . I don’t use any discords so was none the wiser. Good news on the AI version, well done. I didn’t wanna be poking anyone for a rush on, just keen, enthusiastic and curious ya know. When she’s ready she’s ready . Will be great to see her in our skies and to fly with. Look forward to it 1

352ndDeacon Posted September 16 Posted September 16 It will be four years in a few months since this was announced. When will it be released?

There's obviously plans I'm more privy to but don't talk about since this project isn't my love child, its scoob and loki's, so I only really parrot publicly what they've said in general chat, media, maybe some in the "questions" thread channel. As for when I work on this personally: I haven't worked on it much right now. A lot of the features we are still missing in flyable at this point on my end atleast are things that are hard to do without DCS SDK. Them two are hard at work on the AI mod right now and yup, everything is done in free time. Such is the reality of a lot of mods and even a lot of 3rd party upcoming modules. 4 years is nothing compared to the Mag3 corsair :p 8 Project Lancaster. Helping a little on Caffeine T-38C. Scoobyon Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Its been a while in here, The external model is now in a place where we are happy to release the lancaster AI version! It by no means finished in my eyes, but I doubt that it ever will be considering how many hours it took to get to this point alone, thankfully theres no hour counter on 3ds max or photoshop. There's a few areas that arent up to my standards but i think that they are minor enough that majority of people wont notice, should hopefully have a AI release for you all very soon! I know your next question is when the flyable version is, it will take time. The interior still needs massive modelling work and the flight model needs debugging to make it a smooth and authentic experience, so please have patience, we want to release this more than anybody. Ill leave you with some screenshots for now null image.jpgnull 11 4 Minor Lancaster Fanboy
Slippa Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Cracking job . Cheers for the news too, as always, lookin bleedin marvellous. Keep plugging away and she’ll be Flyable someday/night, it’s worth the wait . 1
MAXsenna Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Is it possible to add AI to the DCS core? That would be an agreement between the team and ED. But what I'm hoping for too. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
