Not related to the game, but I do remember a story in the Philly News about a flight of Super Es had to make an emergency landing in Atlantic City, which at the time I kinda thought was funny..... and in some ways it still is.... because I wonder if any of those jets left a little.... heavier... than normal 😛

For those that don't know, Atlantic City New Jersey is an Eastern US version Las Vegas

But yeah, you will never hear me say 'no' to more Carrier birds, even the French ones.

I would like to see original French Navy Super Etendard from 1970s/1980s in DSC to fly together with A-6E Intruder, A-7E Corsair, F-14A Tomcat, F-8J Crusader, Mirage F.1, maybe F-4J Phantom, when specialised strike aircrafts like Super Etendard had their specific role to fulfill.

"Modernise" variant was just too late for the party, in 2000s it was outdated platform with modernised avionics, probably mostly calssified anyway so it would have to be fictional, especially radar and modern Sherloc electronic warfare. This times universal supersonic fighter/bomber like F/A-18C or Rafale could do everything Super Etendard M could. And do it better, faster, further, higher, defend itself etc.

To be honest, I don't really prefer a version of the Super Etendard, I just want to do some French carrier OPS 🙂

I know literally nothing about this jet. But if it's a late Cold War French attack jet. I would buy it on day one. We need some air to ground to go with the Mirage 2000, and the coming F1.

Oui oui. The F-8 served on the Clem too

Super Etendard would be a great pair with both Mirage F.1 and F-8 / Clemenceau carrier. Perfect for RAZBAM's 1982 Falkland Map version as well.

Give me give me give me give me give me. God a later cold war F-8, so hopefully an RWR, and flairs, maybe chaff, and a true attack jet to go with it. All off of a smaller not super carrier, and maybe with the super carrier deck crew.  God I might never touch my Hornet again. Let there be some Mig-21, 23, hell even an early 19, and that F-1, preferably toting exorcist, to dog fight with. I'm done. Why oh why isn't this the direction DCS went in.

Mag3's even said they'd pay some consideration to giving their F-8 Magics. Juliets derived a lot of their upgrades from the French Crusader program. The most immediate and recognizable divergence between the French F-8E(FN) and the F-8J would be that both use a different IFF.

Performance is going to be extremely close, probably identical. I don't think the French DCS players will mind having to muck about with an American IFF.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

I hope they represent both the USN and France

Since the Super Etendard was involved in the Falklans war, RAZBAM has stated that it is one of the aircraft that they plan on developing to complete the scenario.

  • IA-58 Pucara
  • Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both)
  • Dassault Super Etendard
  • Sea Harrier FRS.
