After spending like an hour on the inet just to find that i'm not able to find the control center for my MSFFB2 stick, could anybody who still has the cd let me have the control software?

cheers

what does it's "eula" says?

I don't know because i dont have the program?!? Since it was available from microsoft until they stopped the support, i think it's not much of a problem.

The sensor slew button on the real cyclic acts like an axis. The harder the pilot pushes, the faster he slews the Shkval.

Then they definitely need to fix how it responds when controlled by an axis.

Is there anybody using the MSFFB2 POV hat to control the shkval, being able to slew it in 8 directions? If yes, please let me know how you achieved this.

I used to have the problem. Very sluggish. Then suddenly it stopped. Not sure why or how - it just started working properly.

It would be cool if the shkval moved with the HMS instead of point the HMS then click O . I would like it so it moved when i look for using the cannon.

Just hold o and it will move with the HMS. ;)

I also have have the slow moving shkval from my hat switch on theX52 throtle

would be nice to find something that worked smooth and fast

Have you tried holding O down and turning/twisting your head? This way the shkval moves with the HMS. :)

Even if you use HMS it's impossible to get a lock on a helicopter, if you get close with the HMS you still have to slew it on top of the heli, right...

Requests:

1. Include 8 POV mode where a hat switch can slew diagonally.

2. Remove the acceleration that increases the speed of the slew the longer you hold the button. (Full speed directly is preferred, and if you want to go slower there is a button for that in the cockpit)

Look on this video, the movement is much faster than I experience in DCS (don't know if he uses HMS for that)

Shkval cursor movement is very dependent on FPS count. It is pretty fast and smooth at 60fps.

Are you sure the speed of the shkval is dependent on FPS?

By lowering my graphical settings and the resolution so my FPS increased a lot, I couldn't notice any difference in shkval slew rate.

How does the slew work in the real Ka-50?

Can you slew it in more directions than left-right or up-down (for example diagonally)?

Is there some kind of acceleration that increases the slew speed the longer you hold slew button in a certain direction? (Which means that if you change direction often the speed will be slew rate will become very slow)

AFAIK the real BS has an analogue stick to control the shkval, so there is no acceleration, you control the speed with how far you push it to the side. As such, there are no limits on directional control, you can slew it in any direction, not only up/down/left/right/diagonal.

Yes you can, put your mouse in mouse-look mode (ctrl+c), activate helmet mounted sight (HMS, press H i think), then hold O (uncage/designate shkval)

You could also assign a modifier + a mouse axis to the shkval absolute axes.

Only to test the difference in Shkval movement with a POV hat and a Axis, i bound my Xbox360 controllers small POV sized joystick to the Shkval. And I must say that it's 1000 times smoother and faster that way, but of course I can't use that controller during normal flight... :music_whistling:

The next best thing would be to convert the POV directional buttons on my Joystick into Virtual Axis coordinates. In that way one can have diagonal movement and theoretically one could tweak acceleration and dampening of that Virtual Axis in the way that fits the player the best.

Anyone know how to create a new virtual axis from already existing buttons etc?

Or if it's possible to tweak the acceleration of the ordinary button controlled Shkval movement in some lua file?

I've tried via several programs but given up of frustration. If you find any way to enable diagonal slew with a pov hat, plz let me know.

Apply sharp tool on Xbox360 controller, join piece(s) of former Xbox360 controller to joystick..:smilewink:

I think I might try it myself :D

Using the 8 way thumb POV on my CH Pro Throttle (right next to the ministick) and diagonal slew works fine here. I find it more accurate and responsive then the ministick. For the diagonal slew I mapped the keyboard keys combo (;+,) etc...

Button mapping is not available for the MSFFB2 stick under xp and vista unfortunately, at least not that i heard of.

Why not use a third party joystick mapping tool?
