Got it to work but only if I use SteamVR as the OpenXR runtine.  Not good as a big loss in performance.

Other issue, lots of effects do not work in 3D, just some such as monochrome or anything playing with color palette.  I tried all the AA stuff with no visible effect in the HMD.

No solution here.

That's for sure. All the effects don't work, I just realized that now. It's a pity!

Are you saying you have reshade working in MT VR for DCS?   You had to use reshade + this other toolkit?

If you read on you will see I am not saying that... I can't get it to work no matter what I do

Reshade 6.2.0 was just released.  I might take another look.  I had the 6.0 version working in VR with OpenXR previously.  I had to do the config menu stuff in 2D, but it then worked in VR - I could use the hotkey to toggle the effects on and off to see it working in VR.  Had a ~5 fps hit for the options I was using, so I ended up removing it.  I might have another crack at it with 6.2.0.

yeah i could configure it in 2d .. it showed up in t2 it never worked for me in VR

It can work, but only if you use SteamVR as your openXR runtime.  OpenXR Toolkit is optional.

But in any case, it is a huge hit on performance going through SteamVR.

Thank you one question how do you get the MT version of DCS to run using SteamVR?  Until I installed openXR toolkit the MT DCS.exe would not run.  I understand there is a performance hit but still want to try to see what results I may get just not sure how to get MT DCS.exe to run in steamvr.   Thanks

Thats a shame. I use windows mixed reality and open xr so i assume it wont work for me either

I don't know what you're failing at🫤. I'm using native DCS OpenXR and it works fine for me. I have already suggested all the options above on how to get Reshade working.

You cannot run the MT version in SteamVR, only ST is possible. Write the following arguments in the launch shortcut: *\bin\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenVR and it will start.

I just tried ReShade 6.2.0 with DCS MT / OpenXR and it is not working for me in VR 😞

I have installed the fresh Windows 11 yesterday instead of the old 10 and installed Reshade again without any problems. In short: select directx 11, OpenXR, select the desired effects, install. When it appears in 2d, in the settings tab, check all the sync boxes

Synce boxes... ok so that links the openxr VR had view to the 2d changes?

I have it working fine in 2d, while in vr and in the settings tab I do not see anything that says sync. Care to explain further please?

Sorry, these checkboxes are in the addons tab. And in general in VR you won't see any settings, everything is in 2d. You have to remove VR from your head partially and make changes using one eye)

So I found a addon called vr toolkit or something, it changes the vr shaders in the menu using 2d, however in a single player mission I no longer wants and it's deactivated thinking it's multi-player. So I guess I can't use it online either.

I haven't had time to make an instruction with screenshots, looks like I'll have to do.

Seems so, lots of people seem to be stuck at this step. Mostly non steam vr users too. I see the add-on I downloaded and it recognizes fine now, in the main menu it works in 2d and makes the changes immediately in my HMD on the menu screen. Now as soon as I load a mission, single player or multiplayer it is auto disabled. I got so close lol... SO CLOSE. I'm using oculus app, link cable, quest 3. I have a 4090 don't know if I would see performance impact but the user file I downloaded (Colour Grade Profile [reshade] v.3.0 (digitalcombatsimulator.com) looks AMAZING in 2d at least.

https://vrtoolkit.retrolux.de/install.html this is the toolkit I used to see the add-on section which changes the reshade in my HMD, but only in the menu...

So for me, ReShade version 6.2.0 works in VR without any problems.
Simply select the OpenXR option when installing ReShade.
When DCS starts, ReShade is automatically loaded and is immediately visible in VR (Pimax Crystal).

In VR you can't fade it in and out on the monitor like you can in 2D.
Changes to the filters etc. have to be made and saved in 2D.

Then restart DCS and the changes you made will be immediately visible in VR again.

like @TFS said , i have never seen any changes in VR, even if i make the changes in 2D... they are completely absent in VR ... so i'm clearly missing some crucial step but i have no idea on what it is !
