Trashcraft Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Well i couldn't find any way to make it work on and off neither switch up and down is not working on the ground is it meant to be work while on air?
Devrim Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 (edited) It's working on my side. No animations on cyclic collective I think, but I use it and light everywhere. I don't know its power of illumination in real life, but it can't illuminate the ground above 900 meters. Mange Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 One thing and I don’t know why it’s like that… if you stow the light you have to wait 60 sec to be able to extend it again. Anyone knows why it’s like that?
Scaley Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Yep, working for me too but astonishingly weak so probably easy to think it's not working. 1 476th vFighter Group Main Page -- YouTube -- Discord Scaley AV YouTube - More videos from the 476th

Anyone knows why it’s like that? I believe it's to lock out any slew commands from both seats to ensure the Stow process completes properly. It doesn't take anywhere close to 60 seconds, more like 10 seconds max if you had the searchlight at a crazy extension/rotation angle, so I don't know why the inhibit is a full minute. So if one person commands it to stow, the other person can't override it to start slewing it again. You can still turn it off and on during this 60 seconds, but yeah, that is essentially the logic behind it. QuiGon Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) I'm confused by the keybindings for the searchlight switch (see Screenshot). What's the difference between "Down" and "ON"? They both seem to do the same thing (turning on the searchlight)??? What's the difference between "Up" and "OFF"? They both seem to do the same thing (turning off the searchlight)??? What exactly does "STOW" do? Does it just stow the searchlight or does it turn it off as well? If so, doesn't it make "Up"/"OFF" superfluous? I haven't thought about it being like that, but it makes sense. The manual of the real Apache says: "NOTE Searchlight motion is inhibited for 60 seconds after the ON/OFF/STOW switch is placed in the STOW position." So, it seems it's just simulating the real world behaviour. I've just programed the searchlight onto my HOTAS, I binded it to a Microstick (and using a Modifier button, so I can use the same microstick to move the MPD cursor). The specific controls I used are: Searchlight_Position_Switch-RET Searchlight_Position_Switch-EXT Searchlight_Position_Switch-L Searchlight_Position_Switch-R Searchlight_Switch-ON toggle Searchlight_Switch-OFF toggle Searchlight_Switch-STOW The movement is pretty slow, will see if I can make it go faster by adjusting the character generation rate of my keyboard, here is a video testing its operation with my Hotas: For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
