dutchie_031 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Hi there! I've been searching through the roadmap and other notes and forums, but could not find any plans of using the HSD for markpoint creation, From others I hear this should be possible, so I just thought I posted something here. Sorry if I'm double posting, if so, please just let me know. Kind regards, Dutchie
ED Team NineLine Posted April 22, 2022 ED Team Posted April 22, 2022 As far as I am aware this is not possible on what we are modelling, if you have any information, you are free to share it with me, either here or via PM if you are concerned about the sharing the documents based on our rules. Kind regards, Dutchie I doubt this is practically possible, since HSD is a 2D map, so it has no elevation data, which you have to have to create a point in 3D space (which steer or mark point is - X,Y,Z coordintates). Besides, why would you use that "undetailed" map, which has for background just black color, instead of using steerpoints which you can pre-plan, or using TGP, where you can make visual markpoints on the fly?! The point is, it practically has no meaning of using HSD for creating markpoints.
Frederf Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 There's a terrain database in this airplane that would get an elevation from a 2D position. That's why the 3 options for height data on the FCR page are BARO/RAD ALT/PR, PR stands for passive ranging or elevation data from database file. As stated, this variant doesn't have the ability to mark the HSD directly. One could make marks on the FCR while looking at the HSD ghost AG cursor and that would provide approximately this ability.
Ignition Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 (edited) Not exactly the same but, is it posible to hook other flights SPI through datalink (in the HSD)? like in the A-10C. I know is not posible in DCS atm. Edited April 23, 2022 by Ignition
Frederf Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 That's how PDLT works for the most part which appears to be coming in one of next few updates.
