YoYo Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) I dont know, its ED or Magnitude, but this is what I found on Steam database. The title is reserved! https://steamdb.info/app/411941/ What is important it matches to Magnitude Japan assets for F4U, so maybe it could be an surprise ;). rkk01 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Could it be the ED WW2 version of Marianas…? expanded northwards to include Iwo Jima??? Now that would be big news Always thought it odd that ED would pass off PTO to a single 3rd party. Suspect (hope) there is a coordinated approach being pulled together behind the scenes 2

They did update of this in December 2020. 2 hours ago, rkk01 said: Could it be the ED WW2 version of Marianas…? expanded northwards to include Iwo Jima??? Later that year names of three Steam packages (82242, 82243 and 82244) that include this app were discovered in a "help website disclosure" which allowed someone at SteamDB to guess this app's name as "DCS: Iwo Jima Map".
YoYo Posted June 6, 2022 Author Posted June 6, 2022 (edited) See it. strange (alos its marked as ) ReleaseStateOverride released We'll see, I think its a WW2 map of Marianas (much bigger?). yami Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 I may be wrong, but I think that by default packages inherit the "ReleaseState" of apps they include, which in case of app 411941 is probably set to "unavailable". I think that the the development/testing related packages (82242 and 82243) were created with their "ReleaseState" overridden (hence the "ReleaseStateOverride") to "release", so that developers/testers can use them. Package 82244, which I guess is intended for customers, has no "ReleaseStateOverride".
Gunfreak Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Strange making iwo jima. I mean the Marianas already have tiny islands in lots of water. I would think Philippines or Okinawa would be better even Okinawa would be mostly water but Philippines would be great. 1 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
Cunctator Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 In 2015 when the Iwo Jima map was conceived Nevada wasn't even released. Nobody thought about a Marianas map back then. So much has changed that I would be very surprised if this map is ever completed now. 3
