PLEASE Help..F18 Cockpit texture

Hey all...Running DCS Open beta and trying to install the clean cockpit mod..followed this guys directions to the letter..

but when I go into DCS Special etc under cockpit I only see default..Sorry guys, Im new to DCS and for the record...I have DCS Installed on an SSD "E" drive but I made the liveries folder on "C/USERS/USERNAME/SAVEDGAMES/DCS.openbeta/LIVERIES/COCKPIT_F-18C/clean pit.

First mod ive ever tried to install, I also just for the heck of it, tried to install it in "E" drives Mods folder, doesnt matter where i put it nothing shows up...can someone walk me through this like the newbie i am..any help would be appreciated!

Try unzipping it and droping it to:

C:/ user / username /saved games / DCS.openbeta / Liveries / Cockpit_F-18C /

Make sure it looks like this:

Then it should show up in the game settings

 

 

I just tried this and it worked on my PC, hope it helps

As noted above:

goto  c:\users 
There will be a folder with the username you log into Windows window 
Select that directory and below that you will see 'Saved Games' directory. Note the space in between and the folder should already exist.
Depending on your DCS version you should find either a DCS or DCS.openbeta folder.

Create the Liveries\Cockpit_F-18C folder below that and copy in the clean cockpit folder below that

ok, I did that to the letter and still, all it shows in dcs is "default". I have followed that to the letter..Im pulling my hair out..

It seems you have not the good folder "FA-18C-CPT-TEXTURES" vs "FA-18C_HORNET_cleanpit" as you can see post above

Did you download from here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302617/

If so then that download does not have a description.lua so will not show up. It is a very old version, well ... from 2018.

I use this cockpit for the F-18 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302845/ If you download that and put it under the cockpit folder it will show up.

Can also use this cleanpit version https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313436/

A tip for the future - when browsing through user files repository on ED website, always check upload dates and user comments. As you can see, some mods available there are quite old and just not compatible with recent DCS versions anymore. But, ask around in this section of the forum and folks will advise on alternatives, updates etc.
