Roller25 Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Any chance we could get some force feedback effects added to the Hornet?
Roller25 Posted July 18, 2022 Author Posted July 18, 2022 ....is it possible to have the Hornet changed to force based on G load atleast? At the moment it seems that it is speed based... 1
plehmann Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Ok so I read the words but don’t understand ..could you provide an explanation for your 2nd post? thx

At the moment it seems that it is speed based... I just imagined myself smacking my Warthog around... with both hamfists from time to time. I'd give it about 2 weeks before ripping the grip off. Yep, it would be nice to have some custom made, full scale center stick with forces controlled by flight parameters + normal increasing torsion around the stops. Sure, the forces can be scaled down to accommodate our flimsy joysticks.
ED Team NineLine Posted August 28, 2022 ED Team Posted August 28, 2022 Sadly FFB are not common enough right now to justify the development time, I hope this changes in the future. 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

A Chicken-and-the-egg argument could be made here. Not a lot of FFB exists because it's not widely supported. 4 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2

But it most definitely is gaining traction. The Rhino FFB stick has many orders in queue, not to mention the DIY builds (which I have). Not long now and I think FFB users will be making more and more requests for support from ED.

No, I don't agree with that, Microsoft had a choke hold on them for a while, but has since expired, I am hoping that will increased the desire for companies to make them, and soon as a new one comes out, I am sure we will work on supporting it. Roller25 Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 The VPforce Rhino is that stick we've all been waiting for. It already has a healthy line up of orders and IMO will set the bar for others to follow.
Dragon1-1 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Does the Hornet even have FFB? From what I know, the only time its center moves is when emergency trim is on. FBW aircraft, and even ones with classic hydraulic controls, don't have the same kind of feedback the ones with direct mechanical connections do (which is why stick shakers are often implemented).
Roller25 Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 (edited) Its more about realistic application of force to the stick for the Hornet. Force vs stick deflection should be based on g load for the Hornet afaik. At the moment, it seems like it is based on airspeed. Edited August 29, 2022 by Roller25 1

Any chance we could make a request to the dev team to just switch the Hornet FFB from airspeed based to g-load? That's all we need for the Hornet. We don't need any of the other fake effects. 1
LeLv30_Superbus Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Another Hornet and (soon) Rhino owner here hoping to see G-load based FFB support in F/A-18, please. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click to view pictures of my deskpit
