Kiwi68 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Does anyone know if any one is working A Hi-rez cockpit mod for this game, as I'm very diappointed the one that came with the game, It does riun the realizim that the game is trying to create. :(
slug88 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 What is your texture setting in game? When running on high textures, the cockpit is already fairly high resolution. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Cockpit textures aren't too beauty, agree. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Airway Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Cockpit textures aren't too beauty, agree. And not toooo ugly, but it is as with driving cars - you should look out of the window when you drive, so you should do as when you fly the helicoper :D
Legolasindar Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 For see cockpit in high resolution texture need set Textures in High (texture in top of Graphic options). Cockpit quality depend of the general texture, no separate. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
miguez Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Hi guys, Once I switched to the High setting for the game textures, i didn't immediately notice the difference in the cockpit. Then i zoomed in. It seems that you can only see the high res textures when you have zoomed in enough, or that they get blurred when you are at a certain distance. For the Forward Panel, for example, I have to zoom in more than the default cockpit zoom is set to to see the high resolution textures. Hope that helps, and hope that is your case too.
VMFA117_Poko Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 What is your mipmap setting on your drivers controller? Set quality or high quality.
Boberro Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 And not toooo ugly, but it is as with driving cars - you should look out of the window when you drive, so you should do as when you fly the helicoper :D :D Aren't too beauty and too ugly... but I don't know something is missing for me with them... I think it is for not too high resolution of gauges descriptions I mean words are too pixelate. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Kiwi68 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 I have the resolution set to high but I'm still not happy cockpit graphic's, hell you just have to look at how great the aircraft and vehicle skins look, then when your sitting in your cockpit it looks like something from the first build of Lock-on, very disappointed I am.
RCN_Moose Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 hmm, what do yuo have the cockpit gracphics set to? I'm running at 1920X1200 and have the cokcpit set to 1024 and its pretty damn close to photo realistic
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted December 30, 2008 ED Team Posted December 30, 2008 Something wrong with your settings? Pretty much the entire cockpit has high res textures, unless you consider this low res? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
Kiwi68 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 Here's 4 pics of my cockpit with the texture resolution set to max, As you can see the writing next to the gauge's is still less than satisfatory
Grodin Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 This is an issue with your display settings, check your quality settings, as said before! Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.
RCN_Moose Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 As an example, heres a quick from mine. I'm running 1920X1200, textures High, and cockpit resolution set to 1024
Immermann Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Are you running at native screen resolution when it's blurry? I turned up textures to high and set native resolution and the cockpit looks very sharp and all instrument labels are clear.
Kiwi68 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 I running at max setting which are 1680X1050, textures high and cockpit setting at 1024. How are you able to have your setting at 1920X1200 ??:(
Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 hmm, what do yuo have the cockpit gracphics set to? I'm running at 1920X1200 and have the cokcpit set to 1024 and its pretty damn close to photo realistic Ditto that. This is the most photorealistic cockpit I've seen in any simulator. I don't see what any higher resolution would do besides degrade framerates.
T.Bone Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 hmm, what do yuo have the cockpit gracphics set to? I'm running at 1920X1200 and have the cokcpit set to 1024 and its pretty damn close to photo realistic Mines set to 1600x and my cockpit is set to 1024, and i got to say my cockpit looks stunning:thumbup: Tbone
Shrubbo Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I running at max setting which are 1680X1050, textures high and cockpit setting at 1024. How are you able to have your setting at 1920X1200 ??:( That would be your monitors/drivers/hardware max settings and not a limitation of the sim. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Legolasindar Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 (edited) COCKPIT RESOLUTION in bottom of Graphics resolutions is NOT for cockpit texture, is ONLY for Shkval and ABRIS resolution :P Edited December 30, 2008 by Legolasindar [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
sobek Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 That's why it's called cockpit displays resolution, i guess. ;) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Scif Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 i run at 1440x900 and looks fine, everything on full and driver options set to the highest i can on my ati 4870, but there is one issue that bugs be a little, i get a bit of screen tearing even with vsync on, it dont spoil the game, but is noticeable when i pan the camera with my mouse. Asus P8P67-M Pro, i7 2600K@4.6Ghz, 4gb Vengence Ram, Gainward GTX 580 3gb Phantom, Win7 64 Ultimate, Warthog Control System. Trackir 5 Pro, Saitek Combat Pedals.
ZaltysZ Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Tearing with vsync on mostly happens when display is using forced refresh rate which isn't supported. People untick "Hide modes which this monitor doesn't support" and choose something to high. Although windows and video card thinks/uses that refresh rate, display silently uses its factory default rate and tearing occurs. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
Scif Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 makes no difference to me if i am running in 60hz or 75hz @ 1440x900 from what i have seen, prob due to my old Hanns-G 19" TFT. Asus P8P67-M Pro, i7 2600K@4.6Ghz, 4gb Vengence Ram, Gainward GTX 580 3gb Phantom, Win7 64 Ultimate, Warthog Control System. Trackir 5 Pro, Saitek Combat Pedals.
Sunjah Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) I have to jump in and agree, these settings are fantastic compared to anything I've ever seen. They get much more clearer as you move in your view, where as normally they stay the same so the closer you get, they actually look a lot worse. I'm running 1440x900, and this cockpit looks incredible. Edited January 9, 2009 by Sunjah Remember, on Nov. 4th, vote for Black Shark for President!!!
