Aernov Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Current cockpit textures (that replaced initial "dark" ones as a fix to make the interior lighter) look kinda low-res, especially the rough plastic cockpit elements (the little bumps are almost blurred out) and flat side panels like throttle base. Can these textures be reverted to original ones since we have new cockpit lighting?

On my current calibrated screen, the cockpit looks way too bright too, and doesn't look right and looks like there is no shadow what so ever 1 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !

How do you calibrate brightness? What is your software gamma. What is the position of the sun relative to your cockpit. 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

A QD-OLED screen with calibrated mode made for photography (Delta E below 2), aswell as a 2.4 Gamma set on my screen and 2.2 on DCS, but the cockpit looks like there is no shadow and everything is looking self illuminated. 1 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !

Well - just a guess (sorry I'm just a non-"calibrated" OLED peasant ) - I'd say your gamma settings are way too high for DCS and everything is drowned in darkness. No wonder you don't see shadows. But it's really hard to judge that without seeing what you are actually seeing on your screen. On my screen, F1 cockpit looks perfectly fine (perhaps the lamps are a bit bright, but hey) Edited November 23, 2022 by Hiob "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

On my screen, F1 cockpit looks perfectly fine (perhaps the lamps are a bit bright, but hey) No, everything in the cockpit is self illuminated and there is no shadow, like the cockpit is too bright and I see everything in the cockpit even stuff that should in the darkness, it's so bright that light leaks in the cockpit, just like cockpit when there is no light, for my screen gamma it's perfectly fine and I have no issue on any other cockpits or any other games (HDR too). Also the quality of the textures are really bad compared to before and looks very flat, like a mat plastic... The early cockpit textures where better to my opinion. For info my screen is the AW3423DW running at 2.4 gamma in calibrated mode and running at 10bits, I use the recommended gamma settings from ED themself. 1 My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !
Flappie Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Default gamma setting in DCS is 2.2, not 2.4. ---

Are you using windows HDR or any shader mods or weird Reshade settings? I don't see anything of that, what you are describing. Sorry. Nope, I'm on SDR, using the calibrated mode, with a calibrated gamma of 2.4 and 2.2 in DCS, I use no reshade, nothing is added, every other cockpit looks normal and look as they should, I rechecked it on all the modules and yup only the F1 looks bad My Setup : i5-4690 3.50GHz + 24GB RAM DDR3 1600MHz + MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC + 2 SSD + 4 HDD + Oculus Rift CV1 + TM T.16000M Hotas Super Etendard for Life !
