It sounds absolutely bonkers to smoke in a fighter jet on a carrier but also very French. Only what I observed when we had some Crusaders deployed to Coningsby in 92/93. We had a squadron feeder (cafe) and the FN pilots would have lunch with a glass of red wine before flying the afternoon sortie. We thought it was a great idea but the management didn't.
