twistking Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 The manual is really insistent on choosing the 1500 setting for the cluster bombs and i also have the feelign that i got the best results with that setting. Why though? Can the Auto mode not calculate a good solution for any other setting? Or is it just coincidence that i got good results with 1500ft and should any other setting work as good in theory? Dragon1-1 Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 You can't change the height of function for CBUs from the cockpit. What you can do is tell the jet the HOF that's been set on the bomb itself, and AFAIK, that's 1500ft. If you enter anything else, they'll still function at 1500ft, but your solution will be wrong. 2 3
twistking Posted July 27, 2022 Author Posted July 27, 2022 (edited) thanks to both of you! i suspected that HOF was not accesible from the jet so solutions for anything else would be off, but the manual did say nothing about it. so if we get the fuze-setting-menu for the modern jets, we will hopefully be able to hassle the HOFF on the bomb itself and then use these values for the solution... Swift. Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 I'm 99% sure the CBU-99/Mk20 stores coding options are also incorrect. I did a massive deep dive on Rockeye fusing a while back, all from harrier reference materials so that's the last 1% of doubt. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Dragon1-1 Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Well, they're overhauling fuzing options right now, so maybe it's a good time to bring other HOF settings up.
Frederf Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 The WWII bomb new fuze configuration tech is really cool. I can't wait for it to be implemented into the rest of the stores. 1
